The most talked about game though was probably 9 ranked Virginia Tech and 2nd ranked LSU, which actually didn't turn out to be much of a game as the Tigers defense really took it to Tech's QB Sean Glennon. After a scoreless first half, Tech finally got on the board when their backup QB rushed the endzone for their only points of the game, as this one finished 48-7
LSU's defense appears to be dominant and I think will carry this team all year long.

Unlike Sunday's NFL scores, I was delighted by my teams performances on Saturday. Georgia Tech won easily(as they were suppoed to) against Samford, 69-14. The Yellow Jackets are now ranked #15 in the national polls. My alma matter, The Citadel, blasted Weber International 76-0. My other favorite college team, Ohio State, won in a workmanlike way, defeating Akron 20-2. I was a little surprised at how handily Oklahoma handled the Miami Hurricanes. Miami's head coach, Randy Shannon, himself a former Hurricanes player, has a lot of work to do to get the Canes back to national prominence. I also was surprised that UAB(Alabama Birmingham) nearly defeated the Florida State Seminoles, and in Tallahassee! The Blazers were ahead for much of this game before the Noles won it, 34-24. Should Florida State struggle again this year in the won-loss column, look for head coach Bobby Bowden to step down.
