Do you have a monthly or weekly DVD budget?

No budget, really, here. Some weeks, I don't get a thing and other weeks, I might pick up several titles, but it's more hit and miss with me.

Do you stick to a budget or do you buy anything that you have on your list that you really want and more inportantly can find?

If I can find titles while out at a retial store and if it's possible to afford them, then I'll pick up what I can find, but again, no real budget is ever planned out by me.

Do you pre-order a lot of your titles to get a slight discount?

I used to occasionally do this, both at a local Sam Goody or online, but seldom do this, anymore.

Do any of you ever find yourself trying to explain your collection size to anyone?

When living in the apartment, the DVDs were on display in two very large shelving units and several smaller units. Seemed then, people were always commenting on why I needed so many titles. Now, I have to house them in those portable CD/DVD cases and nobody really sees those.

Has your collection size grown to the point that storage is now an issue?

Definitely, but only because we share a house with Dad and he has things and we have things and the DVD collection can't really be on display. The only DVDs I have out on shelves are in the spare room and I keep my TV on DVD collection in there and special boxset collections.

Do you make 'blind buy' purchases on a regular basis?

Occasionally, but only after talking to people that share a bit of my taste in films and after some serious homework about a film or TV series. Thanks to recommendations, here, I purchased, Super Inframan and love it. I may do the same thing for, Iron King.

Is your TV on DVD collection larger than you thought it was?

Yes, I have to admit, I didn't think my TV on DVD collection was nearly that large. Of course, I have several single discs that are in the collection, so it can be misleading.

Is your film on DVD collection, larger than you ever thought it would be?

Yes, when I first began collecting DVDs, I never thought it would get to this size, mainly because my VHS collection was never quite this large.

When you purchase a new DVD, how long before you actually sit down and watch it?

I will usually 'scan' through the disc, just to be sure it's OK, but always try my best to watch a new or used DVD within a few days.

Do you have any sealed or a large stack of unwatched DVDs, in your collection, today?

At the moment, I don't have any DVDs that aren't watched, but I am working my way through, Ironside Season 2.

If you collected LDs or VHS, has your DVD collection outnumbered the old collections by much?

I'd say my DVD collection probably outnumbers the VHS collection I had at one time by 700-800.

How do you store your DVDs? Shelving units, etc? How do you put them in order? Alphabetically, genere, year of production, director, etc?

I use shelves for my TV on DVD collection and the special boxsets. I do everything alphabetically and the old 'snapper' cases, I keep on the shelving units, as well.

Are all your DVDs on display or do you feel you need to tuck some away, due to content, when company visits?

No, all my DVDs are on display. I had a party at the apartment, once and someone commented on my, Killer Condom DVD, but I never felt I really had anything that I needed to hide.

Do any of you use NetFlix or any other rental service and if so, has that had any affect on your DVD purchases....more or less?

I don't personally use any online rental program, but Carol was using NetFlix at one time and I think that cut down on her purchases.

Do you house your collection of titles using an online catalog site or have you made up your own way of keeping track of your collection?

I use; DVDAficianado, DVD Profiler and DVD Spot, although, I paid for the DVD Profiler program, several years back and it's my favorite program.

Buy used or new or a wee bit of both?

I used to be a wee bit snotty about purchasing a used DVD, but found some outstanding bargains at one time and the DVDs played, perfectly, so I am less snotty, although I am often amazed at how poorly some DVD cases are kept, when they are offered for sale.

Do you ever have a clear-out and go through your collection and get rid of titles you purchased blindly and didn't care for or because of re-releases or just because the film no longer appeals to you?

I gave my youngest brother all my 007 DVDs as well as several classic horror titles. I have given my Mom several of my Christmas titles, too.

If you're willing to purchase DVDs, used, have you ever found a DVD that was a real bargain?

I got the Lost In Space Season 1 collection for under $25 and probably my best 'new' bargain was at K-Mart, where someone had mispriced the Godfather colelction for $17.99 and they honored it!

If something were to happen to you, is there a family member or close friend that enjoys your taste in films and you'd give them the collection?

I honestly don't think many family members would be interested in my collection. Mom might take my Christmas DVDs, Skeet might take the 007 collections and Carol has said, because I am such a fan of the 'Supermarionation' series, she'd take one or two, just because I liked them so much. Probably, I'd have someone sell off my collection and give the money to family.
