Aside from reading up on such things as the alleged existence of Bigfoot, UFO's & other oddities of science, the subject of the end of our world has always interested me. There has been debate, ad nauseam, about how our planet will meet its end. Theories abound. There are those that believe in scenarios based on the Bible, others that are based on scientific principle(s). Scientific possibilities discussed include the possibility that the Earth will be struck one day by a colossal asteroid or comet, one large enough and traveling fast enough to destroy the Earth on impact. I have personally read one theory in which it is postulated that as our sun begins to die it will release larger solar flares, some with the equivalent energy of millions of hydrogen bombs that would impact our planet, burning, literally, Earth to a crisp. Alien invasion is a common theme as well: malevolent extraterrestrials invade the planet Earth, presumably for purposes of colonization, like something out of the H.G. Welles sci-fi classic War Of The Worlds. There have many among us who have declared the end of the world and obviously been proven wrong by the simple fact that we continue to exist. The only thing scientists seem to agree on is that the existence of Earth is finite and that our planet will one day cease to exist. Talk about your own feelings and opinions regarding the end of our planet, and anything(links, photos, video clips) that might be related.
