Do any of you remember a British television series called Thunderbirds by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson and made by AP Films
It aired September 30, 1965 – December 25, 1966 it was filmed in "Supermarionation" a form of marionettes.

The series followed the adventures of International Rescue, an organisation created to help those in grave danger using technically advanced equipment and machinery. The series focused on the head of the organisation, ex-astronaut Jeff Tracy, and his five sons who piloted the "Thunderbird" machines.

I loved this show as a kid and now watching the show I'm amazed at how well this was really done. Everything is so large scale and yes you do see the strings sometimes but I feel it just adds to it. If you have never seen it I urge you to check it out.

here is the wikipedia for the Tv series http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thunderbirds_...derbirds_Are_GO
