I haven't been watching many films of late, because of problems with my computer and that had me all upset, so DVD watching took a back seat for a while, but here are some recent views..... Masters of Horror: Chocolate-A solid enough entry in the series and while definitely not what I would consider a horror episode, it had a few tense moments as well as a shower scene that had me laugh out loud. Masters of Horror:Incident On and Off A Mountain Road-I thought this was a very good entry to the series and boasted it's fair share of tense moments and definitely leaned more towards horror! The Longest Day-Just upgraded to the new 2-disc SE and this is a great 'little' film. I have heard some people say that there is far too much star-power in this film....a cast that includes; John Wayne, Henry Fonda, Robert Mitchum, Eddie Albert, Red Buttons, Richard Burton, Sean Connery, Roddy McDowall....well, you get the idea! A huge cast, but very well done and a have a soft spot for the film, as I can remember sitting and watching it with my Dad and he gave me his copy of the book to read, too. The bonus features are plenty and pretty good, but one minor quibble might be that it seems some of the participants of the film were interviewed and those interviews were used for a few of the featurettes. Rawhead Rex-I read the short story by Clive Barker before ever seeing the film and while the film may pale slightly when compared to the short story, the film is still pretty enjoyable to me. I believe this was available on Region 1 DVD, but think it may be long OOP, so I eBayed my Region 2 copy a few years back. |
