I don't own a Nintendo DS or PSP so I havent yet been able to experience the Castlevania titles on those portables...I was however able to play a couple of the GBA titles, which I found to be pretty enjoyable "mini" versions of Symphony Of The Night. The item inventory system and "leveling up" RPG elements of these Castlevania titles definetly helped the series become better despite the fact it remained in 2-D while most games had switched over to polygons.

The DS game are better then the GBA titles but still not fully upto Symphony.....kinda somewhere in between...the graphics definitely are looking alot closer. If you end up getting a DS Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruit are both 2 of the better Castlevania games made and are worth getting a DS just for them. Let alone other good DS games.
