I must say, it's one of the best epic films ever made I agree. It's also, along with 1997's "L.A. Confidential", one of my favorite films starring Russell Crowe. The opening scene where Maximus' army engages the German barbarians is awesome, as were, IMO, the Coliseum combat sequences. thumbs up
