Did you know that the actor who plays the slave dealer (Oliver Reed) died of a stroke in the middle of of the film? They used special effects to film him. I didn't know that. In fact, when I first watched Gladiator(2000) in a theater I didn't realize Oliver Reed was actually playing the character until the end credits.
