The last commentary I saw posted about Mothra(1961) was that Columbia Pictures, which still owns the U.S. rights to the film, has in their possession a beautiful print of the movie, and that there is reason to believe that, within the next 1-2 years, a region 1 DVD release might happen. Thanks for the info, Lee. :) Though there are many of these films, yet to be released on Region 1 DVD, that are probably not going to be released, anytime soon(if ever), Mothra(1961) is not, IMO, one of them. With the Classic Media releases, the recent Tokyo Shock releases, the BCI Ultraman DVD that came out, and even the Universal two pack of KK Vs Godzilla and KK Escapes, both in letterbox, there seems to be more of an acknowledgement from the companies owning the rights to these films that there is a market for these films, in widescreen and with decent extras. Remember too the Sony releases of the "Godzilla" films we have seen in the last year, in addition to the 2007 scheduled re-release of RODAN and WOTG and FCTW. Mothra(1961) is coming Kimi, but it may take a year or two to get here.
