Although I voted for George W. Bush in the last election(over Democrat Al Gore), I was not really enamored with either candidate. To be honest Kimi my political views(the few that I have) are most closely matched by the Libertarian Party. I could go into some detail about what this Party stands for but I won't. You can "search engine" it and learn anything you might want to know. I agree with you that George W. Bush is doing the best he can. I also wouldn't want the job either. My problem with Bush really comes down to one issue, and it's a big one: his justification for the Iraq War. The President used the presence of WMD's(Weapons Of Mass Destruction) in Iraq as justification to invade that country and oust Hussein. Now I know Hussein was a murderous, tyrannical, cruel despot, and the fact he is no longer in power is fine by me. The problem is that there were never really any true WMDs found-there were, to be sure, some chemical weapon shell casings and other accessories consistent with chemical weapons, but that was it. Either our intelligence was poor on a colossal scale or there was some bending of the truth, if you will, by our Commander-In-Chief, regarding the presence of these WMDs. I expect my President to be honest, 100% of the time, no exceptions. Here is where I believe Bush has failed, and it is a failure created entirely by him and the staff surrounding him, in particular Secretary Of State Condoleeza Rice. There has always been the grumbling as well that George W. Bush was a child "born with a silver spoon in his mouth". He is from an extremely wealthy family Kimi, his father a President and former Director of the CIA. His family has connections, money and power. I believe this helped "Dubya" get elected to the White House. If I sound like I am no fan of Bush then I would say you are correct, though by no means do I consider him the worst President the US has ever had. I sure would like to see a President that gives some kind of damn about working-class people such as myself. IMO George W. Bush is, regarding blue collar people in the U.S., totally clueless and indifferent. thumbs down |
