Image: another nice photo of the Formula One race car, circa 1966, and it's driver. Note the car's low profile, the driver little more than 12" off the ground. The car's low profile, then, and now, is a design that enhances the speed of the vehicle, and minimizes "drag". The interior of the car is very small, which compounds on the demands of the driver during a race. Not only does the driver have to manipulate the gear shift expertly, he also has to maintain control of the steering wheel during the straightaways and turns. One thing is certain: driving a Formula One race car is one hell of a way to earn a living. ... thumbs up
