All of these are epics, at least in my book. While I have never been particularly enamored with musicals, there are a handful I have watched and been very impressed with. You mentioned one, The Sound Of Music(1964), in your list. Another one that comes to mind: West Side Story(1961). Other epics enjoyed by Packmule: 1. Dances With Wolves(1990) 2.
