Rome is so obnoxious... Do you know how monatonous it is to hear one voice for 4 hours straight? Actually, no I wouldn't, as I have never listened to Jim Rome for more than a few minutes before switching the channel... . As for not sharing his show with another co-host I think you can chalk that up to two reasons: 1. his arrogance and 2. fear that he might piss off his co-host and get thrown over the table :D
