In December of 2003 Toho released Godzilla:Tokyo SOS. In this movie Kiryu, aka MechaGodzilla, is currently under repairs(from it's battle in 2002's GxMG). Unfortunately for Japan, Godzilla awakens once more and emerges from the ocean depths to make landfall again. Enter Mothra, who will defend Japan against the Monster King, provided the authorities scrap Kiryu. They don't(of course), and Godzilla and adult Mothra do battle once more, followed by Kiryu entering the fight, and lastly, the twin(larval) Mothras. ----I like this film, but I couldn't shake the feeling that it was too similar to the 2002 film that preceded it. Seeing Chujo again(played by veteran Toho actor Hiroshi Koizumi in a role reprisal from the original 1961 Mothra film) was marvelous, and the twin fairies were beautiful(as always ). A solid, if not spectacular entry in the Godzilla film series. Post your thoughts, impressions, and critiques of this film and anything related to it here. :)
