Indeed, and unfortunately for Denver, it wasn't with a BB gun eyebrow . The two players you mentioned who departed Denver will both be missed, in particular Mike Anderson, a former U.S. Marine and bonafide tough guy who loves to block and knock opposing players on their duffs. He is also an effective, and certainly bruising, runner in his own right. . Despite these two player subtractions I believe Denver will again be a contending team next year, and the AFC West might be theirs for the taking because: 1. new Oakland head coach Art Shell will need more than one season to turn the Raiders around 2. San Diego just said adios to Drew Brees and hello to Philip Rivers, who some experts and NFL insiders believe is another Dan Marino in the making. Maybe, but not this coming season, as Mr. Rivers adjusts to life as a starting NFL QB, basically on-the-job-training. The threat to Denver will come from, IMO, the Kansas City Chiefs. They have a new(and IMO very good) head coach in Herman Edwards, himself a former NFL standout player, a DB with the Philadelphia Eagles. Edwards will help bring defense back to the fold in KC, I think, which should concern the opposing teams on their schedule, because we know they have a great offense. :)
