I have always been a law abiding citizen. I believe that without laws we as a society would be in serious trouble. Turns out, however, that many laws are hard to understand, and even harder to break. Consider some of these laws, still on the books, in the great state of Texas:

1. One must acknowledge a supreme being before being able to hold public office.

2. When two trains meet each other at a railroad crossing, each shall come to a full stop, and neither shall proceed until the other has gone.

3. It is illegal to take more than three sips of beer at a time while standing.

4. It is illegal for one to shoot a buffalo from the second story of a hotel.

5. A recently passed anti-crime law requires criminals to give their victims 24 hours notice, either orally or in writing, and to explain the nature of the crime to be committed.

6. Lions are prohibited from attending the theater.

I also came across this article today. Seems a train in Jakarta, Indonesia was transporting a corpse, for nearly half a day, before anyone even noticed: Indonesian train carries dead man for half a day before anyone notices
