I know most of Red Sox Nation is in mourning as, even though Manny was being Manny, and was dogging it the past couple of games or so, he is still a potent and clutch hitter. Big Papi now does not have the protection that he has benefited from since joining Boston and now, with a three game deficit to the Rays, I just wonder now if they'll even win the Wild Card spot. Jason Bay is a nice player, and he may benefit from playing at Fenways, but he's not the clutch player that Manny is. I understand why Theo Epstein and the rest of the Red Sox brass did this, but at the same time, I think they should've kept Manny for the rest of the season, see what happens, then let him become a free agent. Oh, and Griffey, Jr. goes to the White Sox.
