Yes it was well made and all that, but the story is quite confusing (and to be honest not that good), plus some of the violence is unjustified - like the main female character, she just gets crushed horribly at the end of the film! Akira is not bad, but its not that good either. If you're looking for a film that's closer to a masterpiece you should watch "Ghost In The Shell" or "Spirited Away". I do have to agree with you about Ghost in the Shell, I've only see it once but it was definitely a great piece of work from what I remember. I've only seen parts of Spirited Away but it did look appealing to say the least.
	Just another reason why I'm a fan ;-)
