But I've got a lot of good memories from the original Metroid as well as the one for SNES, which was easily one of my favorite all time SNES games. Oddly enough I felt the same way at first, mainly due to the control scheme. After playing through a second time I fell in love with the Prime series too. The newest has interesting and good controls (I fail to call it innovative seeing how it's a motion controlled version of a keyboard and mouse).
