That notion that nuclear radiation could mutate a creature to gigantic proportions, or do anything besides irradiate and destroy tissue, has long been debunked. But then again, The Day After Tomorrow is much worse. And it's not even a good movie. I can forgive unscientific movies if they are good. I hope your teachers are not serious about TDAT being scientifically-accurate to any degree.
