Fan Of The Evil Dead Trilogy

The fifth film Im reviewing is the original Japanese Version of GODZILLA 2000! The Godzilla Suit (He looks mean and for the first time green) The Orga Suit (I like the design of Orga, mostly the big hands, he is also worthy of been called as Arnold said in Predator: "Your One Ugly Mother F**ker", also IMO the Cloverfield Monster looks like it was a bit inspired by Orga) The score (Takayuki Hattori score here was better then his Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla score IMO) The Good CGI (While not as good as the Gamera 3 CGI, the CGI sometimes is good, like when Orga starts growing spikes near the end of the film) The Gigantic UFO (I liked the design, attacks for it, also IMO the best UFO to appear in a G-Film) Dark and Serious (I liked how it was dark and serious, While not terrible the the American Version of the film lightened it up and made the film more like the 60's/70's G-Films, which weakened it IMO) The alien not looking like a human (I liked how the Alien didnt look like a human like the Xillian's in Godzilla: Final Wars and other G-films) A new color for the Atomic Ray (While I prefer it Blue, it was good to see a change)  The bad CGI (Some of the CGI wasnt good, the scene when the Millennian's hand transforms into Orga's hand is an example of the CGI I dont like) Godzilla not attacking the military with his atomic ray (I personally think Godzilla should have attacked them with his atomic ray after been hit by the Jet missiles) The pacing (IMO the main flaw of the film) The Monster Suits been a bit stiff (IMO they seemed a bit stiff in some scenes) My top three favorite scenes: 1: The Death Of Orga (IMO was the best effect in the entire film) 2: Godzilla changes up his atomic ray for the first time (How Godzilla just stands there and charges up, with that score in the background made it IMO a great scene, sadly it was cut out in the American Version) 3: Godzilla appearing at the start of the film with the boat in his mouth My favorite Tagline: This year forget the Y2K bug... Prepeare for the G2K bug... My favorite quote: [Before getting killed by Godzilla] Mitsuo Katagiri: "GOJIRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" My rating: 7/10 (A film with more good things then bad, also a good start to the Millennium Godzilla series and IMO better then the American Version) Edited by gojiramatthew, Nov 27 2008, 01:09 AM.
