I'm a fan of the other 3 Fallouts (1, 2 and Tactics, never played the console one because I heard it was crap) and I'm really enjoying this one. It's quite a jarring change from the last installments, but I'm really spending hours on this game. Experiencing the wasteland first hand is beyond awesome, and at the beginning you really feel you're out there scavenging parts, food and supplies just to survive (however, much like the previous installments eventually you hit god mode millionaire by the end of the game). I actually found the side missions to be far more fun and interesting than the main one. Running into the Republic of Dave or Big Town actually made me laugh. The humor of Fallout 1 was translated well into this title. Certain things were lost, but overall the feel was sustained. Edited by crow_t_robot, Jan 9 2009, 11:31 AM.
