They really added to the movie I couldn't agree more. The wire works effects were marvelous in SOG. I read somewhere that as many as three wires per Kamakiras had to be operated in order to bring these props to life. I also thought Kumonga was the unofficial "star" of Son Of Godzilla. I liked the audio effects of the gigantic spider and also the effects used when Kumonga fired off its silk at the giant mantids, Minya and Godzilla. Bonus - the film's Toho trailer:
