I read an interesting trivia blurb not too long ago that said that the makeup effects used in the 1941 film(courtesy of makeup effects maestro Jack Pierce) were to have been used on Henry Hull in 1935's Werewolf Of London, but the producers of the 1935 film wanted less makeup on Hull, opting for a more "minimalist" approach to the overall makeup effects for Henry Hull.
