Ghidrah The Three Headed Monster - random revisit Once more I sat down and watched the Classic Media R1 DVD of Ghidrah The Three Headed Monster(1964), in Japanese language with English subtitles. Some observations, some positive and some negative - -I couldn't help notice that the policeman and his reporter sister both apparently live in the same house...with their mother. Considering that both are adults wouldn't they presumably be living on their own and in their own apartments?  -anyone catch the audio of Rodan as it first emerges from Mt. Aso? It sounds like Godzilla's roar, and not Rodan's, just a second or two. -I still debate in my own mind what really motivated Godzilla and Rodan to join larval Mothra in battle against King Ghidrah. My initial thoughts after watching this film the first few times was that Godzilla and Rodan felt guilt watching the small creature take two full gravity beam blasts against a far more powerful opponent. Then I began to think that maybe this just pissed Godzilla and Rodan off, the two monsters secretly fond of the small larval Mothra but not wanting to admit it during the first monster "convo" the three had.  -as absolutely gorgeous as I've always considered Kumi Mizuno in these 60's films Akiko Wakabayashi(who played Princess Saino) is also a hottie!  -on the airplane, Princess Saino's assistant, played by Eisei Amamoto, looks like he could benefit from some regular dining at the Waffle House, as he appeared to be all of about 120 lbs soaking wet in that uniform of his -I've always thought the Selgina officials uniforms looked tacky, especially those ruffled collars on their shirts |
