Legendary journalist and former CBS news anchor Walter Cronkite has died. He was 92. Cronkite passed away of cerebral vascular disease at his home in New York(Manhattan), surrounded by family members.

Walter Cronkite was the news anchor of CBS(Columbia Broadcasting System) from 1961-1981, his career covering two decades and some often tumultuous events in American history, including the 1962 Cuban missile crisis, the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963, the Vietnam war(1965-1975), the assassination of Robert Kennedy and civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr in 1968, and the Watergate scandal of 1975.
