Popped in, The Trouble With Harry, yesterday and that film is so gorgeous to look at, I'm not so sure the beautiful scenery and vivid colors may not take away from the story, to some degree. I guess there's nothing like New England in Autumn and this film certainly catches all the beauty. Edmund Gwenn is most underrated in my opinion. I'm finding that I see more films of him, every year, but usually quite by accident. He's not usually a main chaacter or given the top billing, but the man has a presense on screen and a real knack for stealing any scene he's in, as well. While definitely not what many would consider your typical Hitchcock film, this is one film worth checking out, even if it's a rental or you're lucky enough to catch it on TV. |
