To be honest there has been little, if any, discussion of politics at this site since I created it back in late January of 2006. I have gotten the impression that the active members of this board are not "drawn" to political discussions, though I could obviously be wrong about that. I considered prohibiting the discussion of politics at Monsterland Forums, but decided against that for two reasons: firstly I didn't want to eliminate a possible source of communication among the members of this board in it's first year, and when I'm trying to grow this site. Secondly, I believe talking about politics can be productive and civil, despite being on the "sidelines" at so many other boards as I watched disasters unfold, political threads turning into name calling and other ugly verbal exchanges. |
