Brando was wonderful and I've also read studio execs weren't so willing to have him in the role of the 'Don'
I read, more than once, that Marlon Brando had a reputation for being "difficult" on movie sets.

I also watched the third installment of this trilogy last night on AMC. Pacino was stellar, as usual. Andy Garcia was good, I think, as "Vincent". The most powerful scene for me was the ending, on the steps, regarding Michael Corleone and the ultimate fate of his daughter. (no spoilers)
