Welcome to MONSTERLAND FORUMS! We are a casual and friendly online community of movie fans who like to talk about giant monsters, horror and sci-fi in cinema, on television and on Blu Ray/DVD. There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. For those of you who like making art, writing stories and creating videos, our community includes a forum for these submissions as well. Check out our main index page and other board forums! Anyone is welcome to join our community!

MONSTERLAND FORUMS was created on January 29, 2006 for the purpose of giving fans of giant monster films and other sci-fi/horror movies a friendly online meeting place to discuss all of their favorite films and other things of interest like video gaming and sports.

MONSTERLAND FORUMS has 180,000 posts. This online community, while over twelve years old, is currently no longer as active as the early years(between 2007-2009). Still, we have a half dozen members who continue to participate here.

For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju).

Not yet I've been busy with work and school; I'll probably start doing it in late April when I have more free time.

Lee, do you think someone with hours of freetime would be able to really rack up the $$$ on such sites? This is something I am seriously contemplating on doing since I need cash flow.

No. There are posted testimonials from people who claim they have made and continue to make hundreds of dollars per month taking online surveys. In truth this is the exception rather than the rule. Anyone who tells you otherwise is full of it.

Two years ago I opened an account at Cash Crate.com, an online survey site that IS legitimate. I managed to make $22 but it took me nearly six months. Why? Because you have to take a demographic test beforehand just to qualify for the survey, many of these surveys' eligibility requirements based on age, sex, height, weight, buying habits, and other variables. I was rejected for about 75% of the surveys I tried to qualify to take.

Even after you qualify, Evan for a survey it can take 15-20 minutes to negotiate the constant and annoying pop up ads and other ad content. Many of these surveys require you to register(by email and your personal info) at other websites, for specific product updates and other content. That means a lot of spam which floods your email inbox. I used my Gmail email address for this stuff and routinely deleted 50-60 spam emails DAILY based on spam email I got from required registrations at websites while taking Cash Crate online surveys. I suspect most online survey websites are like Cash Crate...if not the same. winky

If you want to make extra money, Evan I absolutely believe you and your bro Zach should consider starting up your own lawn maintenance and/or basic yard work business. You don't need a lot of money to get started: you can generate some basic flyers online using a template, print them out on a friend's printer, start handing them out to friends and acquaintances. Most people don't like doing yard work and you'll find those who are willing to hire you to clean up their yard or even mow their lawn on a regular basis. What you need by way of equipment to start: a couple of metal leaf rakes, some paper recycable bags, a small tarp, a basic lawnmower(21" push mower), a basic weedeater and a basic gas powered leaf blower. You can get by without a blower in the spring and summer months and would only need a weedeater(string trimmer) and lawn mower. Basic lawn mowers can be bought at Lowes or Home Depot for about $200 and a basic gas powered weedeater for about $80(including tax). That's less than $300 to start up a service in which the equipment you invest in can pay for itself in a month or less. Example: three years ago I bought a Stihl BR-600 backpack leaf blower for $450 plus tax(about $485). In the past three years I've done yard clean ups with this blower that have generated, by own estimates, more than $4000 in revenue. winky

I agree with Lee Evan you aren't going to get much money from these survies I'm looking to add probably an extra $10-$15 a month by taking them if that which is basically going to cover a bit of gas taht it takes me to get to my actual job.

As for jobs find a local mom and pop restaurant and start off doing dishes or being a bus boy, or as Lee suggested lawn work; with the latter you'd be able to get paid and also get excercise in which I believe you stated you wanted to start working out right?

Another option you have is that if you're good with computers offer to do computer repair; I've made a few extra bucks doing computer repair here and there but now that I'm in school and working so much I don't have the time it takes to fix a computer.

Still not feeling good and I think it's turned to bronchitis sadly I don't have time to make it to the doctors today; I was up late last night studying. If I get out of class at a decent time tonight I might try to go to those in and out places that we have near buy.

There seem to be a rash of people burning things in their kitchens around this apartment complex. I've heard smoke alarms go off from the apartments of several different neighbors.

Hell, even I fell victim to it a couple months ago. Melted the lid of one of my ziploc containers. Now it seems like everyone's doing it.

I'm finally starting to feel better so I skipped out on the doctors mainly because I don't really have the money right now to go and also today we had to go pick my father up from the hospital, he had minor surgery yesterday and they let him go a day early.
