For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju).

I also liked the fact that the "Tower" store was only about a 20 minute walk from my residence, and their "Foreign DVD" section was always decent.

I've heard that Tower Records did have an impressive foreign DVD section, something most DVD retail stores are sadly lacking in. I will say that Borders has a decent selection and the one Barnes & Noble I go to occasionally, also offers a very nice foreign section and a huge Criterion collection area, as well.

Indeed, that was my sentiment as well. Of course copyrighted material is a legal issue and for these guys a legal issue=they have a "will not touch with a ten foot pole" mentality  freak out

Well, I suppose that if I were in their place I probably wouldn't do it either. <_<
'The void is that which stands right in the middle between this and that. The void is all-inclusive, having no opposite — there is nothing which it excludes or opposes. It is living void, because all forms come out of it and whoever realizes the void is filled with life and power and the love of all things' - Bruce Lee

I'm sorry you're having this problem Kimi. Can you tell me once more exactly what the problem is? Be as specific as you can, and I will initiate a "Support Ticket" to the Invisionfree tech support staff about this, to see what they have to say. If memory serves me correct the emoticons do not display correctly for you, right? eyebrow

Though this might be better suited for the "Tech Help" thread I thought I would post it here, as it is related to my computer. I spoke with a Bell South tech today because I was not able(temporarily thank God) to login into my Bell South email page. During our troubleshooting of the problem the technician, a nice guy named "Patrick" recommended that I turn off my computer whenever I am not using the machine. Now this is completely contradictory to what I have been told by several individuals, including a computer-repair technician at Geek Squad, and the owner of a computer repair business. Their recommendation: leave the computer on, for vital updates, and also because the repeated turning off-turning on of the computer is not good for it. The Bell South technician recommended turning the computer off unless I am using it, regardless of the firewalls and anti-virus/anti-spyware progams I have up and running. His reasoning: something bad can still get through. My final decision: I will begin turning my computer off when I am not using it. If anyone wants to comment about this please fell free. shifty eyes

Thanks Lee. The emoticons aren't animated. They actually appear to be in a 'forzen' state. Now, this also happens to me with my IncrediMail E-mail program. Some of those emoticons are indeed animated, but the majority are not. I can see animations in web pages, scrolling animations and have all the boxes checked that do allow for animations to be seen in web pages, but emoticons and smilies seem immune to any effort to animate them. It's weird, because of course, any advert that is animated within a web page does indeed work, too. I've tried everything I can think of and still, no happy, winky, dancing, jumpy or expressioned emoticon works. :(

Kimi, I copied and pasted your problem description into a support ticket along with my own questions regarding this problem. I can't make any promises but I did submit the support ticket just minutes ago. I should hear something from the Invisionfree tech support in 48 hours or less. :)

I went in the Tower Records store near my residence today to pick up a ten pack of DVD+R's. There were "Going Out Of Business" signs everywhere. I am going to stock up on some more DVD+R's this weekend at this store. They are beginning to mark down just about everything in the store now. The clerk who rang up my purchase said the store will tentatively close in about six-eight weeks. I can guarantee you that when DVDs start getting marked down more there will be a feeding frenzy in this store, as it is located in a busy shopping center in a wealthy, upscale part of northeast Atlanta. glow eyes

When our local Sam Goody began their going out of business sale in February/March, I know I stocked up on some DVDs. The last time we were in there was 17 March and that was to pick up the two shelving units we purchased for DVD storage. They had their DVD TV boxsets on sale at 50% off and Carol picked up several seasons she needed of, CSI. I had been buying DVDs all along and really padded my collection during those sale weeks. I hated to see them go and it still pains me when we head up to that plaza, to see the 'Sam Goody' sign and know the store is empty....but, I certainly took advantage of the sales.....guess that kind of makes me a vulture! maniac

If I were buying DVDs for 50% off and then saw the store I bought them in vacated I would be pretty miserable, too. tongue-1

Latest phobia for Packmule: rakingleaves-itis. Symptoms: an overwhelming sense of dread, finding bits of leaves in one's pants pockets, wallet, socks and boots, and also a pervading sense of frustration. Cause of the phobia: falling leaves from trees, in particular River Birches, Pin and Water Oaks, Sycamores, Ashes, Gingkos, White Oaks, and Sweet Gums. Cure for the phobia: there is none, currently. OTC medications for the headaches and indigestion that accompany having to clean up these leaves are readily available, and thank God for that. faster <!--emo&shifty eyes-->Posted Image<!--endemo-->

 I know a lot of folks in this area are also suffering from this phobia.

When I was a teen, I lived with my great-Aunt/Uncle and a cousin my age and my Aunt would gather us up and the four of us would be out front raking leaves for hours and then she'd move us around to the back of the house. Now, in the back, there was a narrow area of grass and then the tree line started for the woods/forest and we'd be raking and raking and raking and finally my cousin, so disgusted with this chore would yell at my Aunt, 'Mom, this is woods....there are supposed to be leaves on the ground!'.

Pretty good, thanks, Lee. It's still slightly tender and the infection is taking it's sweet time to clear up, but it's so much better than what it was and for that, I can only be extremely grateful. :)

As much as I hate to deal with leaf cleanup jobs the truth is it is this kind of work that often helps us landscapers get our "hours" between planting jobs. eyebrow

Did the dentist recommend you avoid certain foods for a while, e.g. things that are more brittle, or just harder to bite into(like an apple for instance)? eyebrow

I honestly believe that, as leaves have to be the hardest things in the world to clean up, unless you have a mower with the vacuum attachment or a bag to catch the bits in. <_<

Actually, he didn't. I guess they expect you to use a little common sense, but he strongly suggested no sipping through a straw...to avoid a very painful dry-socket, from what I've been told, they are killers and to avoid anything super hot, but after 24 hours, I was on my own. It's weird, I hate the 'soft' feeling of a gum until it toughens up a bit.

If the leaves are really wet then this method would not work very well. I've seen commercial-type leaf vac's chutes clog up very easily because of wet leaves or a combo of wet leaves/pine straw. I have personally used a $1000 commercial grade 21" mower, made by Honda, and with all the extras you can imagine: it still will not vaccum wet leaves worth a damn. Wet leaves=you have to collect them(for the most part) the old-fashioned way, which is by raking them up. freak out

Now, if the leaves are dry...then you're in business with a mower that has a bag attachment. thumbs up

We were at Mom and Jim's, late this morning and I was asking Jim how many more times he feels he needs to mow and he said as long as this slightly wamer weather lasts, he'll have to keep mowing, BUT, he has to wait for the lawn/leaves to dry, as he'll have a huge mess if he tries to mow, now.

Correct. All grasses, that is, all grass types, generally "like" warm weather, which, coupled with rainfall, makes for optimal growth activity in the grass. Warm season grasses, like zoysia("Emerald" or "Meyer") should start going dormant pretty soon-it's a process, and can take, depending on the weather, anywhere from 6-8 weeks(or a little longer). Once these "warm season" grasses are dormant they appear as a beige or light tan color, until, of course, the next spring, when they "green" up again. Fescue is a type of grass that remains green(active) all year round, and is considered a "cool season" grass, more shade tolerant-it can be mowed all year round though it's growth slows considerably in cold, or very cold weather. In severely cold weather fescue may "brown out" somewhat, the tips of the grass blades even appearing burned. This is normal, with severe cold exposure, regarding fescue grass.

Sorry for the rambling. freak out

Sometimes I think I get a little carried away in trying to pass along a little of the knowledge I have accumulated in over eleven years of toiling in the landscaping industry. Got the primary bathroom in my basement apartment fixed this past weekend, or rather, it was unclogged. The plumbing company repair people also cleaned the bathroom after they were finished. thumbs up

I said "adios" to Norton Internet Security(and a $60 a year bill), removed it from my computer, and downloaded Grisoft's free anti-virus program, which includes free updates. My computer-repair friend told me that the Grisoft AVG anti-virus software is just about as good as Norton, and takes up less space in my computer. Grisoft also offers Ewido Anti-spyware, the entire package free for the first 30 days, then the firewall only after that, if you opt not to pay the $40 which covers a two year period. I am going to spend the $40 and keep the full package "Ewido" software, in about two(2) weeks.

I also downloaded and now use the new Yahoo Mail Beta software-I admit it looks better than the old Yahoo Mail page but I don't really use any of the extra features. eyebrow

Hey, I think it's great that someone takes the time to share knowledge, so share away. Thanks, come Spring or just before, I may very well do that, as Carol loves to plant and such, but isn't always sure about some things. :)

I had a major computer issue back in May and ended up using the computer's recovery discs to get back up and running. I encountered the problems following an automatic Windows update and decided after that to pcik/choose what would and would not be updated. Well, decided maybe I should run the updates and after almost 3 hours of updating (56k) and now looking at another 7 hours of updates freak out I guess I won't wait so long! That last update in May really caused major problems and became a phobia of mine after that, but guess it is better to be updated, so I won't be looking at 10+ hours of updates in the future. cheeky sick smiley

It started off that I had an automatic update for Windows and after that, everything went all wonky on me. I couldn't even open my Outlook Express for my E-mail. We actually tried the 'system restore' and it appeard to fix the problem, but a couple of hours later, I was back to no E-mail. Carol called for tech help and they said it sounded like a virus.....I was a bit upset, as I refuse to open any E-mail or attachment from people I don't know and even then, I am cautious. Also, I had a virus protection program that never picked up on anything, but in the end, we were forced to use the recovery discs and I lost a ton of saved material, as we couldn't even get back in to save things to disc.

Following that fiasco, I soured a bit on automatic updates, especially after talking to a couple of folks online that had issues follwing the same Windows update. Just decided on Thursday that I needed to update some things, so I did and so far....knock wood.....all is OK.
