I see on a news bit online that it's being reported that Cutler will indeed be the new starting QB on 03 December! I guess Plummer just isn't getting it done and rather than wait until next season, Shanahan has decided to roll the dice and either try and make the playoffs as a wild card or sit at home, this season and start looking towards next season, but either way, Cutler will get to cut his teeth on NFL defenses for the remainder of the season.

My health issues also make it impossible for me to have children, so making the decision about not being a parent long before my health issues made it impossible is good, I think. I love my nieces and nephews as well as my cousin's children and friends. It's wonderful to play with a baby or child, spoil them a little and then, when they get crancky and out of sorts, you can smile and hand them back to their Mom or Dad. Mr Green

Congrats on the pay raise, Lee. thumbs up

I thought Carol and I got a Douglas fir, but we aren't so sure, now. I see online that a Fraiser fir is the most popular, how can you tell a Frasier fir, from say a Douglas fir, Lee?

The primary difference is in the overall appearance of the trees, Kimi. The canopy(overall shape) of the Douglas Fir is fuller and more dense. The canopy of the Fraser Fir is less dense, because of the "spiky" look of it's branches and runners. Look at the images below, Kimi, to see the difference:

I have to tell you baby poop in diapers= makes Packmule dead

I used to check out "gag" gifts at a shop in a mall I used to work in, while in the retail industry. One of these shops always displayed a set of diapers, in plastic wrapping, that had fake baby sh*t in it. It looked even more nasty than some real diaper disasters I have seen up close and personal. freak out

We were told that's what we chose, but I must admit, the branches don't seem as dense as in the photo. Here's a photo of the decorated tree....not very clear, but perhaps you can tell?

Judging from the shape of the runners(or "extensions" as they are often called) the tree you have is a Fraser Fir. question: does the tree have a strong aroma to it? The smell would be pleasant, by the way. tongue-1

If the answer is "yes", then your tree is probably a Fraser Fir.

Look closely at the image below, Kimi. The extensions(runners) on a Fraser Fir tree appear comb-like. Do the runners on your tree look like the one in this image? eyebrow

Been cleaning up a lot of properties at work(leaves). The leaves continue to come down. Hopefully they will be all off the trees by the third week in December.

I set up my Christmas tree today. It is a six foot tall Leyland Cypress that I placed in a 25 gallon plastic container in a blend of top soil and potting soil. I have to keep it by the patio door windows of my apartment so that it gets some sunlight while I'm at work.

Very tired lately. Not sleeping well at all the last couple of weeks. thumbs down

I will put up a couple of strings of Christmas lights on my small tree on Friday night, 12-1. I am already getting sick of Christmas commercials. freak out

Look forward to watching It's A Wonderful Life, starring Jimmy Stewart. It's the only Christmas-themed film I really like. I see that A Christmas Story(1983) plays all day on TNT(or TBS?) every Xmas holiday season. I despise this film. Not sure why. I just do. crazy

That's neat! Yes, I;d say the runners do very much look like the smaple photo you provided and the tree does have a very pleasant aroma. I just had Carol come in and look at the comparison photos and she feels we do have a Fraser Fir.

My Mom, step-Dad and niece and nephew came down, last night to check out the tree and we received very enthusiastic thumbs up from everyone, so that made us happy. Mr Green

You're not alone in your despising, A Christmas Story, I have never liked the film and not sure why, as so many seem to love it. I have a cousin who says she puts TNT on the day they have the marathon of the film and has it playing in the background all day! cheeky sick smiley

Hoping to get the studded snow tires on, either Friday or Saturday, we aren't expecting any heavy snow, but we are supposed to be getting colder temps and snow showers.

I need to get my layaways picked up and finish my shopping AND do baking, so thank goodness, it's only the beginning of December, this weekend,

Do you think the cat in your household, Heiney Butt, will climb into the tree? I ask because about four years ago my cat, The Hammer, managed to climb into a 7" Fraser Fir in my old apartment(a one BR in an apt complex)-about 2 AM I heard a loud crash and ran from my bedroom into the livingroom to see the tree on it's side, and a porcelain lamp and end table laying on the floor. My cat had left the scene of the accident, no doubt hearing me enter the livingroom, and anticipating that I would snap at him. tongue and cheek

Got rained out from today. We have had four straight weeks here now with one "rain" day a week=Packmule's paycheck is one day smaller. freak out I'll have to try and find a little work on Saturday to make up for the loss of $.

This year I am only going to "gift" myself a DVD-ROM for my computer-I'm thinking I can get something decent for $100, or less. eyebrow

I guess we've been lucky with Heiney Butt, so far. As soon as the tree is up, he's under, all curled up, sleeping away, but he's never 'climbed' the tree. I have several friends who have cats and they have told me the same story that you told about, The Hammer. :D

Heiney Butt will occasionally be caught nibbling on the branches or trying to nibble a round ornament, which he can't do, so Carol squirts him with the water bottle and he HATES that! Hehehehe

I see some states to the west and south of us are really getting hammered with some nasty weather! freak out Looks like we could be in for some severe storms, here, today. Calling for wind gusts of 60MPH, thunder/lightning and lots of rain. I'm definitely looking forward to cooler temps, but not the storms a cold front brings in and I really hope we don't get a lot in the way of snow or ice. I'll have to keep an eye on the outside decorations that Carol put up, just to make sure they don't blow into the next county!

House cats seem to have an aversion to getting wet, don't they? crazy

After I had first taken in The Hammer, who was about eight months old at the time(in 2000), I tried to bathe him in the kitchen sink. This cat hated it so much that in trying to keep the cat in the sink I became fearful that I might accidentally harm him, as he was determined to get out of the sink. I called the animal clinic where I had taken him to set up an account and then get his vaccinations-the vet told me to simply lather the cat up and then towel him off with a wet towel, then dry him off, doing all of this on the kitchen counter, and not in the sink. This is how I bathe my cat, even now. He will not tolerate being drenched with water. He does like being brushed.

Working today, trying to clean up the final waves of fallen leaves on various properties, and with swirling winds, with gusts up to 25 MPH=Packmule would not wish this on his worst enemy. nonono

I am working Saturday(12-2) and for half a day Sunday(12-3)=extra $ I will need to pay the bills early, before Christmas. I am also going to be watering plants/trees in our landscaping yard for 1.5 hours late Sunday afternoon. faster <!--emo&shifty eyes-->Posted Image<!--endemo-->

I got HB for Carol back at Christmas '98, as she'd just moved to PA and had to leave her cat behind with her Mom in Florida. He was just a couple of months old and one day, I was in taking a bath and he got in there with me. He loved to walk around the edge of the tub....then, he fell in! It was hilarious, until he shredded my back, trying to get out!

Carol said he's the most unusual cat, he HATES to be brushed, which is tough, as he's long-haired. He likes to have his ears cleaned, but howls and carries on when Carol washes him or brushes him. She uses these 'wipes' that are kind of like baby wipes, only larger and made for pets, to wash him. She did this on Thursday and you'd have thought she was dunking him in water and killing him, he just howled up a storm! freak out

Well, the windo ripped the icicle lights down that Carol had put up! freak out I brought in a few small trees she's also put up, but everything else seemed to weather the storm. Carol wasn't too pleased when she saw the pile of lights laying there!

Word has it, a tornado might have touched down, to the southeast of us, yesterday afternoon. I couldn't believe how warm it was, think it was near 70º! Supposed to be much colder, the next week or so and after all this warm weather, bet everyone will come down with a cold or the flu, now. cheeky sick smiley

Latest phobia by Packmule: Christmas advertisement syndrome. The cause: a glut of Christmas commercials on television. The symptoms: nausea, trembling in the hands, and occasional vertigo. The cure: not watching the television, at this point, appears to be the only effective treatment. freak out

Worked for most of this weekend-about five hours Saturday(12-3) and about seven hours today, in order to make some extra $ so I can get all my monthly bills paid by 12/15. No rain scheduled for this week= thumbs up

I received my first Christmas present of the season, from my friend "Matty"(his nickname)-I do yardwork for him during the year and he's also my periodic counselor(he is a PT counselor at his church). He gave me a Bible, a book called THe Purpose Driven Life and a portable AM radio(with an earpiece). thumbs up

I have placed a small Christmas banner on the main page. dancing admin

Some, but not all! One of my favorites used to be the old Norelco commercial, the one that had Santa riding the razor through town....remember that one, that was on when I was just a kid, so it's a good 30+ years old, now!
