Welcome to MONSTERLAND FORUMS! We are a casual and friendly online community of movie fans who like to talk about giant monsters, horror and sci-fi in cinema, on television and on Blu Ray/DVD. There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. For those of you who like making art, writing stories and creating videos, our community includes a forum for these submissions as well. Check out our main index page and other board forums! Anyone is welcome to join our community!

MONSTERLAND FORUMS was created on January 29, 2006 for the purpose of giving fans of giant monster films and other sci-fi/horror movies a friendly online meeting place to discuss all of their favorite films and other things of interest like video gaming and sports.

MONSTERLAND FORUMS has 180,000 posts. This online community, while over twelve years old, is currently no longer as active as the early years(between 2007-2009). Still, we have a half dozen members who continue to participate here.

For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju).

I may be wrong about this, but have most countries already stopped the CRT TVs?

I don't know, really. I found this article about CRT TVs, which still sell fairly well and, not surprisingly, because of their prices. I am going to buy a 30" widescreen-flatscreen HD TV at the end of this year(at Christmas-it'll run me about $550)) so I'm covered. I'll still hold on to my other TV's, you can be sure of that. shock I most definitely agree with that. I know when they gave me the initial injection for numbing, they said it would feel like a bee sting....now, I know some bee stings are worse than others, but that hurt like hell and they did it down through my wrist. freak out The incision spot for Mom is in the area where an appendix scar might be, but just slightly lower. I don't know where they do the initial numbing injection, but it can't be very comfortable in that region, either!

Nice Christmas gift to yourself. Mr Green You should find some great prices at that time of the year, too and they say the week leading up to the Super Bowl is also a great time for buying TVs at nice prices. thumbs up

I always remind my crew members that should they encounter a raccoon, opposum, snake, or even a coyote, to absolutely leave these animals alone, especially if the animal is not approaching us or acting in a potentially threatening or aggressive manner. Sometimes they heed my words...and sometimes they don't. nonono

I also know that "After Christmas" sales can bring some good bargains. I learned this the hard way: about two days after Christmas the 27" flatscreen television I bought, on December 22, dropped in price $35.

From your description of this experience it doesn't sound like the injection for numbing did much of that, that is, the "numbing", at all. confused

I know I'd definitely heed any advice about wild animals. I've had more than my fair share of run-ins with wild animals and thankfully, none have ended, badly.

It was an odd day, for sure. They gave me an injection of Benadryl, to relax me, when I first got there and they gave that to me in my hip and I bled all over from that. Then the injection to jumb me for the procedure and that hurt like hell and you have to be aware of what's happening trhough some of the procedure, so you're numb, but not out of it. Feeling the catheter worming it's way through your arm and chest is a very odd sensation! freak out

Oh, Mom hd her cath done and everything came back good! Jimi The stent from when she did have her attack 5 years ago, looked good, the heart looked good and they even did a check on her kidneys and all is OK, there! jumping smiley

Same here. I'm curious as to your take on PETA, People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals. I have often believed their methods to be extreme, though I have never questioned their mission statements. Opinion on PETA? eyebrow

So do I. I actually called Best Buy, and was told I could not get the difference back, as per their store policy. thumbs down

Briefly I felt like "Paharito", that half ton bull that jumped the arena wall and went on a rampage...than I took a deep breath and came back to my senses. shifty eyes

I despise the winter and cold, mostly because I suffer from SAD.
By "SAD" you are referring to Seasonal Affective Disorder, aka "Winter depression"? eyebrow

Oh, I think their cause is a good one, but with many organizations that have a good cause they want to support, you always have some members that take their support to extremes and often cause more trouble than doing good. I think it's always a good thing, when anyone is protected that might not be able to speak out for themselves...children, the disabled, the elderly, animals, but I don't think you need to harm anyone or cause property damage to make your point....loses some of my support, when that takes place.

thumbs down My Dad purchased his computer and a TV from Circuit City and I guess if you purchase something from their store and the same item goes on sale in another store, they will price match that and give a certain % back to the customer, as well. I think Dad said within 30 days and his friend that went with Dad to help load up the vehicle, had purchased something and took the sales circular into Circuit City and they gave him the cash difference back, plus a certain %....he was happy.

Exactly. This also applies, IMO, to any cause, including the Pro-Life movement in this country-some of their members have resorted to violence and other unsavory tactics-a prime example: Eric Rudolph. thumbs down

They disappoint me more than they make me happy, these days, too.

Can you believe this....after temps in the 50s and 60s since last Sunday, we are getting hammered with a winter storm. shock Snowing steady all morning and they are saying the worst could come this afternoon adn tonight, where we could see snow falling at the rate of 2-3 inches per hour, for a time. Calling for 6-12 inches with a possibility of more than 12 inches. Happy Spring! Mr Green
