Welcome to MONSTERLAND FORUMS! We are a casual and friendly online community of movie fans who like to talk about giant monsters, horror and sci-fi in cinema, on television and on Blu Ray/DVD. There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. For those of you who like making art, writing stories and creating videos, our community includes a forum for these submissions as well. Check out our main index page and other board forums! Anyone is welcome to join our community!

MONSTERLAND FORUMS was created on January 29, 2006 for the purpose of giving fans of giant monster films and other sci-fi/horror movies a friendly online meeting place to discuss all of their favorite films and other things of interest like video gaming and sports.

MONSTERLAND FORUMS has 180,000 posts. This online community, while over twelve years old, is currently no longer as active as the early years(between 2007-2009). Still, we have a half dozen members who continue to participate here.

For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju).

I was shocked, I talked to Mom, last evening and she had to have additional blood work done, today....the reason, her kidneys checked out good when the cath was done, but now they want to be sure no damage was inflicted with the dye that was run through her veins! :angry: She was in the Dr's office for over 2 hours, today, as they attempted to obtain a blood sample. Couldn't get her veins to cooperate at first, then got very little blood from the final sample. They had her drinking water for 45 minutes, in anattempt for more success, but no such luck. :(

yes, it amazes me, some of these folks are very pro-life, so to prove their point, they kill others!?
Ironic it is, but, and more importantly obviously, it's murder. thumbs down

Can you believe this....after temps in the 50s and 60s since last Sunday, we are getting hammered with a winter storm. Snowing steady all morning and they are saying the worst could come this afternoon and tonight, where we could see snow falling at the rate of 2-3 inches per hour, for a time. Calling for 6-12 inches with a possibility of more than 12 inches. Happy Spring!
freak out It's continued to be unseasonably warm down here-I've been wearing a light jacket in the AM and t-shirt by the afternoon all week. It did rain today, and got windy and cooler, but nowhere near the conditions up there in your neck of the woods. My best friend, who lives in Dover, DE, said the weather there has been cold and miserable lately. shifty eyes

I wasn't aware that the dye could even be harmful at all. freak out Did the doctor(s) make your mother aware that the dye could be potentially harmful?

Well, I have decided to purchase an HDTV at the end of this year. To that end I began looking around on the internet at models and prices. I ruled out Circuit City because they are consistently higher in price than either Best Buy or Wal Mart, from which I will buy an HDTV from one of these retailers at the end of the year. So far my list of TVs I have placed on my "potential" buy list is relatively short, and it may not get any longer.
I have decided on a budget of $750 or lower, and chances are I will more likely spend in the mid $600 range. The units that are so far on my list:

1. Insignia 30" Flat Tube Widescreen HDTV - Reg price: $549.99
On sale: $549.99(Best Buy)

2. Samsung Slim Fit 30" Widescreen Flat Tube HDTV - Reg price: $699.99
On sale: $669.99(Best Buy)

3. Visco 32" Widescreen LCD HDTV w/digital tuner - Reg price: $ 598.00
(Wal Mart)(black cabinet)

4. Visco 32" Widescreen LCD TV w/digital tuner - Reg price: $588.00
(slightly less pixel resolution than #3 on this list)

So far I have put about $100 cash aside(separate from bills and general savings "kitty") and it hasn't been easy doing that as I have had, this year, already five "rain out" days at work(I only had six all of last year)-when I don't work, I don't make any $ freak out

I'll get at least $200 bonus at Christmas(what I got last year) so I figure I only need to save up another $450 over the rest of the year. thumbs up

I'm not sure what our total accumulation ended up being, but it snowed mighty hard for a while. I don't think it's snowing, now and they had thought it might snow into today, so that's good news. I honestly don't mind cold or cooler temps at all, but snow at this time of the year is a real bummer.

We know from past experience, Mom and I'm assuming anyone that has this dye put through, usually has an IV to flush the dye from their system, but they did that to Mom following her heart cath on Tuesday, so I'm confused as to why they want to check, again. eh? I'd rather them play it safe, but I'm still confused.

I see this site humming along nicely. :) With several great DVD releases already upon us and more goodies to come, I think we're going to see a new generation of fans emerge and this is a perfect place to discuss all those films, among other fun subjects. Heck, I'm trying to introduce my nieces and nephews to these films, so who knows, in ten years, they may be among the active members on this site. Mr Green

GEPA

G= Grade

E= Eight

P= Something

A= Assessment

Its basically one of those tests like the NJ Ask (Obviously different for wherever you are) and a few others that I can't remember.

I know it must be awfully tough on your mother, and everyone else in your family, knowing this risk and her(your mother) undergoing the procedure anyway.

Yes, that is what I mean.
I see. How long have you had this? And what physical symptoms are involved? eyebrow

I've first noticed it about two years ago.

I usually feel lazy and uncaring about my life during that time...

One of the biggest things that I noticed was lack of appetite but yeah nothing too major.

During November I've had thoughts about suicide and all that jazz, but I'm starting to feel much better now. Normally I'm quite cheerful and optimistic.

Yup, exactly. Like the state tests that there's usually one for every year.

I understand there are a lot of states now that include a standardized test, yearly, and that each student is required to pass, in order to advance to the next grade. Georgia, my home state, has such a test, though I'm not sure what it's called. Is it a hard test Corey? eyebrow

Which is good, but, realistically, even those with friendly demeanors and positive dispositions are going to occasionally feel lousy, be it about anything. Try and remember this, and allow yourself that feeling bad sometimes about life in general is actually pretty normal, for everyone. That's what my own counselor says. Yes, I talk to a friend of mine by email on a regular basis-he has sent me some good books, and offers me advice about things.

Eh, we had the newly added science section on it, that was the only hard part because it pulled random questions that I didn't know out of the air. Other than that, it was alright, just very stressful. But no worries, I got through it. :<!--emo&lol:-->Posted Image<!--endemo-->

Very glad to hear you worked past those thoughts. I admit, I;ve suffered with those same thoughts through the years from time to time, but never too seriously, I guess. Lee's advice is good, talk to someone, that helps.....friends and family can do wonders to raise spirtis. :)

Down here in Atlanta, GA we're expecting one more major cold snap this month, and perhaps a smaller one in early April. It's one reason why we wait, Kimi, until about mid/late April to change out our client's flowers: if we install spring/summer "color" too soon and it get's zapped by a late frost our customers expect us to replace the wilted flowers...free of charge. freak out
