This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. Yeah I got a back brace but by the time I got it we where on to another task for the night where I didn't really need it. Today I woke up stiff and barely able to move and I have to go back to work at 4pm tonight. Not sure what they'll have me do though hopefully it's working on the computer because I still have computer training to do. If not no big deal I just took an Aleave and the pain in my back is subsided a lot. |

When I started working at "Earthscapes" plant/tree nursery last year(2010) in January you'll recall that my hours were so long(around 60 hours a week) that I was concerned my logins at this board would become fairly scarce. Not only long hours but very physically demanding work: loading pine straw and wheat straw bales into customer vehicles, climbing into and out of the front end skid loaders(aka the "Bobcats"), hauling plants and small trees around by hand and other labors. I was very sore for a couple of weeks. What helped me and my middle aged body adjust to the demands of working at this nursery: -VERY hot showers, the water as hot as I could stand it -some ibuprofen, taking 400-600 mg at a time, twice per day, once in the AM and once in the early afternoon -drinking A LOT of water-I would average about three liters a day, even in cold winter weather -warming up and light stretching before starting my shift at the nursery. My warm ups would include a 10 minute walk down the main road of the nursery and back, then doing some push ups(about 50-75) to get the blood going. -taking a couple of hot baths every week -improving my diet: making sure to eat some green vegetables or a full salad every day and only grilled chicken and/or fish along with lots of rice, pasta, spaghetti |

After talking to my manager who is a friend from my very first job and is dating my best friend's cousin I found out that they're pretty much going to fire me so tomorrow rather today I'm going to turn in my two weeks notice. On a more positive note I'll have another job in about three weeks but sadly it only goes to the end of December :(. Edited by gvamp, Oct 21 2011, 01:23 AM.

A termination would obviously look worse on your resume and would also prove a potentially difficult obstacle to navigate in future job interviews. A resignation would seem to be the better alternative. Assuming your resignation happens here and in light of how brief your stay with Wal Mart was here I wouldn't even include this on any future resumes you may create for yourself, be it a paper resume or online resume. |

As I told my friends at Toho Kingdom I think what I'm going to do Monday is call my manager from Hickory Farms find out the start day for that then work at Wal-mart up until then. After Hickory Farms ends at the end of December I'm going to try and find a much more substantial job using my degree in Business management; I paid good money for the thing so I might as well make it work for me. |

Why do people on the road pull out in front of trucks that are towing trailers? My truck has questionable brakes (partially because I don't have a lot of money to fix them properly), so yes, I'm worried I might hit somebody someday, but geez; where's the common sense? |

Well, I'm tired of sitting on my ass going nowhere. I'm going back to continue my education, job or not. I skipped the summer and fall semesters to try and find a job; and while I haven't been looking too hard, the jobs I've applied for I've either gotten no response from or should have been considered for at least (an auto tech that can't get a job at a damn auto parts store is sad). My parents are behind me, so I'm going back. I only hope that if I do get a job, it's easy, because the majority of my focus will be on school. And good luck with all your issues, gvamp. |

Thanks McCoy I was able to speak with my boss from Hickory Farms today and I do have that job when it starts November 19th. I'm going to continue to work at Wal-mart though until they decide to let me go and if I'm not let go by the time Hickory Farms starts up then I'll do both jobs. |

Speaking of jobs, I was recently told that I will now be overseeing security operations for a 2nd large hospital which is also a regional trauma center: The Dell Children's Medical center just across downtown from the other hospital I supervise at here in Austin, TX. At first, I was presented this opportunity with an offer to accept or deny the position. I was told by the director to sleep on it, but by the time I got to work the next morning, I was already told that, in fact I would be filling this position. I guess someone higher-up decided I would be doing it whether I liked it or not. I will see a small pay increase - about anadditional $200 per week, plus .53 cents per mile for the short, but constant commutes between the facilities. I'll have an additional 8 people under my wing as of next week, plus another set of administrative executives to answer to. The children's hospital is going to be quite an undertaking - I honestly don't believe the compensation is sufficient for the additional responsibility, but I've always been a "company" guy, so I accepted this promotion without complaint and am actually appreciative they are giving me anything at all. The corporation has been good to me so far, so I don't have alot of reason to whine, especially in this day and age in which good jobs are hard to come by. |

Great news Josh with the new title is there room for raises or have you pretty much hit your peak for max pay? Non job related but I got some incredibly bad news over the weekend; my best friend was taken to prison for military related issues that we all thought where cleared up. Back in 2008 he joined the military to better his family well while he was away he was having marital problems and when he got back on leave to pick up his family to take them where they'd be stationed his wife decided to leave him shortly before he was supposed to report back for duty he was in an accident that rendered him unfit for active duty. In early 2009 he was released from the military as though he was never in it the only stipulation was that he had to pay the money back that he earned while in service which was something like $12,000 well he was on a payment plan and I guess missed the past few months and was hoping they'd just take the remaining balance of $3,000 out of his taxes but instead they took him to prison on account of being AWOL. So he needs $3,000 to get out of prison plus another $3,000-$6,000 to get a lawyer to get this all straightend out so he can put it behind him and not lose his children. Needless to say this news coupled with the fact that Wal-mart is probably going to terminate me soon has me incredibly stressed out. I tell you I can't catch a break no matter what. This really makes me question whether there is a god at times and if there is why does he let such bad things happen to good people? |

Your sentiments here started me on my own path to ultimately rejecting the existence of God. For reasons similar to what you have said here. Maybe it was for the best because it helped me develop an attitude of 'I'll do things on my own and make my own way". My father once told me, "Son, there will always be something in life to deal with." He meant that there would always be something in life of a negative nature I would have to contend with. His words have been generally true over the span of my entire life. There always will be things in life to deal with Tom so I would advise you to adjust your mentality to that reality, if in fact you haven't done it already. You may find that this way of thinking makes you more cynical and hard hearted...or not. If this becomes a concern then hang with your friends and keep up a good relationship with them and family: this will help. |

I don't want to discourage you, Tom, or try to change your opinion about life, but I guess it's time for me to say that I don't really believe in God, at least not the Christian form of God that many denominations here in the US wish you to believe in. I'm not completely against religion, heck I find some of the stories in the old testament to be quite interesting. But the way religion is handled and the effect it has on people, I don't like it. I feel like, for most people, "God" is just a coping mechanism to help them deal with whatever they're current issue at hand is. Some people need the guardrails and direction that religion provides, and that's fine. It's just not for me. The only time I have a problem with it generally is when a person or organization tries to force those ideals upon me. |

Just heard from my best friend about a half hour ago and he's out of prison now but he's not in the clear yet. Tomorrow he's going down to Georgia to face his AWOL charges. So my question is this Lee or Josh you've both served in the military any idea on what my friend can expect or what he can do to help him get out of these charges? I know he did have discharge papers that made it seem like he was never in the military but he can't seem to locate them and he does have his medical record as well as pictures from when he was in the hospital from the accident back in 2008. Any info would be greatly apperciated so I can relay it to his girlfriend or his mother. |

The military is typically unsympathetic in matters such as what you have described about your friend. My advice for your friend would be to be totally honest with the military officials who are tasked with handling his situation and any actions that are potentially going to be taken against him. He must be honest and totally forthcoming. I would also recommend he gather any and all paperwork related to his situation, ESPECIALLY official military documents. He should also make sure to have good personal references. While I dislike being a pessimist my guess is your friend will likely be the recipient of some form of punitive action from the military branch he served in. Best of luck to him and keep us posted with updates on his situation. |
