| Welcome to MONSTERLAND FORUMS! We are a casual and friendly online community of movie fans who like to talk about giant monsters, horror and sci-fi in cinema, on television and on Blu Ray/DVD. There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. For those of you who like making art, writing stories and creating videos, our community includes a forum for these submissions as well. Check out our main index page and other board forums! Anyone is welcome to join our community! MONSTERLAND FORUMS was created on January 29, 2006 for the purpose of giving fans of giant monster films and other sci-fi/horror movies a friendly online meeting place to discuss all of their favorite films and other things of interest like video gaming and sports. MONSTERLAND FORUMS has 180,000 posts. This online community, while over twelve years old, is currently no longer as active as the early years(between 2007-2009). Still, we have a half dozen members who continue to participate here. For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju). -Lee "Packmule" Merritt site founder |

Thanks, packmule. :) We're awaiting results of some tests on my Mom and unfortunately, my sister-in-law suffered a slight setback, yesterday and landed back in the hospital. They did put her back in the maternity floor and that allowed my brother and the baby to join her. They should all be back home, tomorrow, if all continues going well, so thankfully, the meds seem to be treating the BP problems well and I'm going with my Mom tonight to see them all.....I think having a new granddaughter is doing my Mom a world of good, health-wise. :D |

Thanks, packmule. It's tough seeing my Mom have some unknown health issues and they're made more exhausting because she is still working and raising two of my nieces and nephews, as well. On a happy note, she will be retiring as of 01 or 02 June, whenever that Friday is and I hope she hears some positive results on her tests, now. My sister-in-law is doing much better and she may be released from the hospital, today. Mom and I went to visit her and my brother and new niece in the hospital, last night and all appear to be happy and healthy! As for me, I am taking it easy, today and hope it's a nice, quiet and relaxing weekend, coming up! Thanks, again for the well wishes. :) |

Have to agree, those Stooges can bring a smile to my face. I watched some I Love Lucy episodes from season 6 and that was definitely good for a few laughs! Mr Green |

I also ordered and received several episodes of the 1970's Dean Martin Roasts on DVD. My father and I used to watch these together when I was a kid. These "roasts" include some of the great comedic giants of TV and movies: Red Buttons, Redd Foxx, Milton Berle, Buddy Hackett, Nipsey Russell, Ruth Buzzi, Foster Brooks, and Rich Little, among others. I think you would enjoy these roasts-among some of the roastees: Muhammad Ali, Lucille Ball, Ralph Nader, Johnny Carson(my personal favorite), Wilt Chamberlain, James Stewart, and Dean Martin himself. thumbs up |

I can barely remember watching these with my Dad or with my Grandparents a time or two and I always got such a kick out of hearing everyone laughing so hard, naturally, some of the bits went right over my head at the time, but I've seen this series advertised a time or two and wouldn't mind getting them for myself or for Dad. I picked him up a collection of the Johnny Carson 'best of' shows on DVD a while back and he's really enjoyed those. |

Both my mother and father were huge fans of Johnny Carson. So was I. He was not only, IMO, the best late night talk show host, but the funniest of them, and a great entertainer in his own right. bravo clap |

Here are some of my phobias: 1) Injections 2) Tall places (I'm afraid of heights) 3) Spiders (especially the ones bigger than my hand!!! In fact, any bug bigger than my hannd!!!) 4) Dolls (the ones that say "Mama" especially) 5) The dark (well, not the dark itself but falling down in the dark and not being able to find a light switch, horrible, eh?) 6) Aeroplanes (I can walk and swim, but I can't fly) 7) Naked men (WHAT?!) |

I have similar phobias concerning these also(that I have "quoted") from your post. 1. Spiders-I respect spiders. Consider Johnny, that our eight legged friends consume, on average, about 100 insects per year. Now think about the millions of spiders on the planet-that's a lot of natural insect control. As a landscaper I have come across some spiders, mostly wolf spiders, trap-door spiders, but on occasion a black-widow or brown recluse, which I avoid, like the others. I try not to kill a spider, as a rule. That said they do creep me out. 2. Heights. I can't take heights, period. If I get on a roof to clean a gutter I'm pushing it. Tall amusement park rides, like ferris wheels? Forget it. Even on the upper floor of a tall building I get nervous if I get near a window. 3. Dolls-ugh! And to think that I had a GI-Joe or two as a youngster. Good grief! jumping smiley |

I used to be terrified of injections when I was younger, then, after recieving shots (from my mom which I hardly trust with it) I've gotten used to them and hardly even care anymore. I get about 6 shots a month. |

I have changed the title of this topic thread to The Official SPAM Thread. Feel free to spam away, as I am doing now, not to mention double posting silver surprised . Talk about anything on your mind blah blah . Some miscellaneous crapola from myself-I keep up with the news. I'm a news junkie. The news, as we all know, can be kind of depressing. Still, I like keeping informed of the events in the world. Some things I'd like to comment on briefly from last week: 1. Bob Nardelli-never heard of him? He's the CEO of Home Depot, who earned $29.7 million dollars in salary and bonus just for the year 2005 confused question: when will this insanity regarding CEO pay in this country end? confused 2. In West Milford, N.J. a 15 lb orange and white cat named Jack took exception to a black bear strolling into the backyard of his owner. Result: the bear was chased up a tree, twice, by this seriously turf-conscious cat. You could say that this bear was jacked-up. eyebrow 3. The Atlanta Braves-the baseball team in my city of residence is in trouble, already ten games behind the NY Mets. It would appear that the Braves run of 14 straight division titles is in serious jeopardy. thumbs down jumping smiley |

It's really not as bad as it sounds. The only time that I really hated it was when I went to get my blood tested one day. I had forgotten to eat that morning (something very improtant) and they weren't able to draw blood. I began to turn pale (well at least what my mom says was pale) and shake and sweat. I then drank a cup of orange juice and felt better. |

thumbs up thumbs up thumbs up I have to take prescription medication daily as well, to keep the uric acid level in my blood from being elevated-elevated levels of this type of acid in the blood cause gout, a painful condition that can strike in the (big) toe(s), the feet, the knees or elbows-it is caused when a buildup of this uric acid in a joint or body part(like a toe or foot or knee) crystallizes in the blood of the affected area, causing the tissue to become swollen, inflamed, and extremely painful.
