Welcome to MONSTERLAND FORUMS! We are a casual and friendly online community of movie fans who like to talk about giant monsters, horror and sci-fi in cinema, on television and on Blu Ray/DVD. There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. For those of you who like making art, writing stories and creating videos, our community includes a forum for these submissions as well. Check out our main index page and other board forums! Anyone is welcome to join our community!

MONSTERLAND FORUMS was created on January 29, 2006 for the purpose of giving fans of giant monster films and other sci-fi/horror movies a friendly online meeting place to discuss all of their favorite films and other things of interest like video gaming and sports.

MONSTERLAND FORUMS has 180,000 posts. This online community, while over twelve years old, is currently no longer as active as the early years(between 2007-2009). Still, we have a half dozen members who continue to participate here.

For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju).

If you want to know where I found the spider, it was behind my wardrobe, I was looking back there since my Yongary DVD fell off the pile
The pile? Of what? Pile of DVDs or pile of clothes? tongue-1

This spider looks a lot like the American black widow, except that the black mark is in a different area of the spider's abdomen.

Maybe, Matthew, your mom may want to call a professional exterminator regarding this spider. ;)

If that spider was a black widow, it sounds like your Yongary dvd was trying to get you bitten. I guess this is how Yongary gets back at mankind 40 years after his death.

Trying to get me bitten is a strange way to get back, then again I dont see why he would do that, I actually enjoyed the film.

I dont think the spider could have survived that, heck even the spray was affecting my asthma, if it could effect a human it should effect the spider, which the spray was designed to kill.

I dont think we need a professional exterminator, even if the spider did survive it has possible hidden itself away, since spider's are scared of humans.

Sorry Matthew. I didn't know you had asthma. Is it something you're going to have permanently or something you may grow out of? :)

Also have you ever had any spider encounters with deadly spiders in you house?.

Inside my residence? No. Outdoors? Yes. I encounter brown recluse spiders, which are poisonous and indigenous to the southeastern United States, from time to time though not what I would call frequently. I have been bitten by spiders(their bite mark is always a pair of tiny red marks), though I didn't witness any of the bites. They occurred, presumably, when one of the spiders crawled inside my shirt sleeve or up my pants leg. Having worked outside, professionally, for the last twelve(12) years, it's not surprising that I would be bitten.
I've also seen poisonous black widow spiders a few times as well.

The largest spider I've encountered working as a professional landscaper: back in 2004, working for another landscape company, I encountered a charcoal-colored wolf spider that appeared to be about 4" in diameter(with it's legs spread out)-this is about the upper end in the size range for wolf spiders. freak out

I have read it. My reaction: thumbs up

I actually looked for this DVD at Best Buy yesterday(Sunday) afternoon while I was out running errands. Best Buy didn't have it. I'll probably have to order it online from Amazon.

Comparably, it'd be high school. We don't go to college in Sweden, but we can go to the university, though it isn't REALLY necessary.

We don't go to college in Sweden, but we can go to the university, though it isn't REALLY necessary.

Here in the United States, it's set up as follows, for public schools:

Kindergarten(pre-elementary school)
Elementary School(grades 1-5)(ages 6-10)
Middle School(grades 6-8)(ages 11-13)
High School(grades 9-12)(ages 14-18)
College(either 2 years or 4 years/2 years = Associate Degree & 4 years = Bachelors Of Arts or Bachelors Of Science degree)(ages 18-22)

For private schools:

Kindergarten-grade 12(ages 5-18)

You mention, Kex, that you don't go to college in your home country but you also mention "university" as well. This "university" is not considered a college in Sweden? heyo

Better make it clear then...

We have Kindergarten.
We have Low-Stage Basic School (Grades 1-3)
We have Middle-Stage Basic School (Grades 4-6)
We have High-Stage Basic school (Grades 7-9)
We have Gymnasium, where you pick a course of your choice to study something specific (For my part, entrepreneurship. Gymnasium Grades 1-3, alternatively sometimes up to five)
After that, we can choose to study at a university, though it's not as necessary as it seems to be in USA. Having a finished course or two at the University still makes a big, big lucky blot on your CV! dancing admin I have not decided whether to go to university, though my chances are pretty decent, and it's practical because we have a university in my town. rockin'

This has certainly been a fast year. The drought continues here in Atlanta, GA, and some weather projections forecast the exceptionally dry conditions lasting into February or even March, 2008 here. nonono

I appreciate the sentiment, Josh. :)

Well, the work year for me is winding down. As per the policy of the owner of the company I work for, the company itself shuts down for about ten days in December. This year we work until Friday, 12/21. We then don't return to work until January 2, 2008.

"Look, the elephants are rushing over the hills".

What did Tarzan say when he saw the elephants rush over the hills in sunglasses?

Nothing, he could not recognize them.
