Welcome to MONSTERLAND FORUMS! We are a casual and friendly online community of movie fans who like to talk about giant monsters, horror and sci-fi in cinema, on television and on Blu Ray/DVD. There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. For those of you who like making art, writing stories and creating videos, our community includes a forum for these submissions as well. Check out our main index page and other board forums! Anyone is welcome to join our community!

MONSTERLAND FORUMS was created on January 29, 2006 for the purpose of giving fans of giant monster films and other sci-fi/horror movies a friendly online meeting place to discuss all of their favorite films and other things of interest like video gaming and sports.

MONSTERLAND FORUMS has 180,000 posts. This online community, while over twelve years old, is currently no longer as active as the early years(between 2007-2009). Still, we have a half dozen members who continue to participate here.

For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju).

Well Christian's are meant to be nice and caring, since God and Jesus were, but say one thing wrote and they are very rude and judgmental IMO.

I do agree with you that Christians, in following their beliefs, strive to be nice and caring, Matthew. They are also imperfect like anyone of any other religious faith. That means they make mistakes and may not always act in a "Christian" like way. Try to bear that in mind. I don't agree with you that saying something "wrong"(I believe this was the word you were trying to type out) automatically results in rude behavior from them. That statement is just too broad and generalized for me to accept.

Something you should consider, Matthew: every person is unique, different. Always take care not to group people into a specific action, reaction or trait, solely based on their religious affiliation, skin color, their home country, or basically by any other general criteria. Those that do this are referred to, generally, as bigots, something I hope you never ever become.

I wonder what KexMex would think of my reasons?
Why not send him a PM and ask him to take a look at this thread? He probably would, and perhaps even post a reply of his own. "Kex" is a very intelligent fellow, Matthew. He also can be direct in his comments-I say that because some people can be offended by that and I wouldn't want you to be.
Kex drops in here at MF weekly. He may, or may not, see this thread so a PM may be in order.
No doubt he sees this topic he'll likely blast away at something I've posted. tongue-1

Well not all of them react badly if I say something wrong, but they can still get angry and that results in a bit of rude behavior, the reason why Im saying that is because on another forum they went off at me for joking around and saying once "Im God", they said it offended them and stuff, Im fine when people say they didnt find a joke I did was funny, but the admin of that forum said something about my jokes that they are "PAINFULLY Unfunny", Im sure now that the statement I said is less broad, there are some Christian's who find it funny what I said, but some just go completely rude.

I dont hate Christian's, its just sometimes they can be a bit rude, I also know people are different and I respect that, its just when people over-react about one think I said and I was joking around, its not my fault they found what I said "Offensive", its there view and Im fine with that, but when someone says that my jokes are "PAINFULLY Unfunny" I feel a bit hurt.

I understand. That said I also can tell you that one of the great truths I learned as I entered the work force and was around many more people, as a young adult just out of college: some people will like you, some won't, and sometimes for reasons you'll never understand.
Some people will treat you with respect and some won't, for reasons you may never understand.
Accepting these two statements can help you when you're working and/or socializing with others. It's not easy to do. I know from personal experience as I've struggled to do this my entire life. It is, IMO, something worth doing, so I continue to work at it. ;)

Ok, I can try to accept that some people hate me for no reason, I do think its somewhat strange that someone hates you for no reason, seems like some of the people at my High School.

Sounds like an interesting story, like a comedy maybe. Will Jason Vorhees hit severed heads down the fairway instead of golf balls? :)

Why am I so amused by this part? Must be the joy of hearing what people say about you.

First, I agree with Mr. Packmule about this:

Quote:

for one: Even Christian's are sometimes jerks, everyone in the worst has to do something thats not good

This part is really not related to religion whatsoever.

Secondly, finding the Bible untrue was one of the reasons that led me to call myself Atheist in the first place. That, and the fact that so many children around me took it for granted without even considering to make an opinion. I know religion is about faith and not about proof, but I put my faith in proof. The "miracle of God" so many speak about is the same world in which Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, Jews, Shintoists and many others live in. Why is it always "this one" that's right?

Besides, if this is just a test for a greater future, it would give it considerably less meaning than if this is the real life we have.

Well the sequel isnt going to be about Golf again, so there's a no on severed head going down the fairway. its going to be about something else, also Freddy and Jason play gold is a comedy, so yeah, the sequel is going to be comedy. :)

well in the storyline of Freddy and Jason play golf, they are not really enemy's, they are more like friends, but still have fights, but there will be no chopped Freddy head.

Certainly.

"If life is just a test for a greater future, that would give life considerably less meaning than if this is the real life we have."

I hope that helps you understand my point. As a side note, I find it very amusing that the SPAM-thread can be credited for several rather interesting conversations, which should not be expected in such a place.

The SPAM thread for this site, Kex, will not always be SPAM, per say, and I never intended for it to be. Many impromptu topics may sprout in this thread, SPAM or not. I believe it's best to just "go with it". An admin at another message board once commented, to a new member, "If you have something on your mind, speak." It was intended to allay any concerns the new member had about his post being a little off topic.
I'm not downplaying the importance of what I call "thread discipline", just trying to maintain the casual and friendly atmosphere around here. :)

I was looking around IMDB, I came across this guy, I think he's a troll, also his writing and words are hard to understand, I could imagine a story by him... man that would be very, very hard to read, here's an example of his writing, he is posting on the Diary of the dead board, saying that its getting bad reviews:

Quote:

as i new it woldd this man cant keep up w the time

Ok.... if I show the people who complain about my grammer and spelling this guys writing, Im sure they will agree this guy will be awful at a story.

Considering this horrendous spelling I would think this person posting this stuff is the one getting the bad reviews. It may be a very young child who just doesn't spell very well or it could be an adult with atrocious spelling.

Matthew, I have read repeated references from you that you do not like criticism of your own spelling and grammar. That's fair and I can understand the sentiment. I hope, however, you take it upon yourself to strive to work at both, always. It's something worth doing, I think. :)

Also Im sure what you said is possible correct, a young child or some adult who needs some spelling help.

Even if my spelling doesnt improve, you can still understand it, cant you?.

Also my spelling and grammer still gets criticized by some people when they review, seems like some people dont really read my intro's and Outro's.

See, I was referring to the general description of a "spam thread", which usually refers to a thread where people post the unrelated, pointless stuff they shouldn't post anywhere else.

I'm already aware of the difference between that concept and this thread.

See, I was referring to the general description of a "spam thread", which usually refers to a thread where people post the unrelated, pointless stuff they shouldn't post anywhere else.

So I take it your point here is that you think some of the comments made by members belong in other topics? If that is your point then again my response is that I'm going to "go with it". This is still a relatively small message board, compared to some of the leviathans on the internet right now. I'm not going to try and curtail, or redirect member's comments to other topic threads that are more related to what they have posted about. I am not, as I said before, downplaying the importance of "thread discipline" but I believe that's more important, and practical, on a large message board with hundreds of members, and where "thread drift" could get out of hand quickly. Toho Kingdom and ATARI immediately come to mind.
To be honest I'm not sure why you're complaining, if that's what's you're doing. This site is what it is and it's never going to be large, and with a huge number of members. That also factors into my allowing things that aren't spam to be posted in the "spam" thread.
There will come a day, Kex, when this kind of thing may be prohibited here. Why do I say that? Because I'm not going to run this message board forever. My plan, from the start, was to work this site hard for five years(perhaps four) and then hand it off to someone else. I'm almost half way to doing that, as this site is now over 2 years old. ;)

As I do periodically, I went through my collection of DVDs and found a few I can give away, because I have them already in other versions(or better versions).

I have these DVDs I can give away to anyone interested:

1. Son Of Godzilla(1967)/Terror Of Mechagodzilla(1975) double feature DVD-R(Region 0), both films English dubbed and in widescreen format. The picture quality of both is good.

2. Gamera The Invincible(1965) on DVD-R(Region 0), in English subtitles and in widescreen format. The picture quality is good.

3. Godzilla's Revenge(1969), the R1 SIMITAR disc, the film English dubbed and in widescreen. The picture quality is outstanding.

4. 2001: A Space Odyssey(1968) on R1 DVD, part of the "Stanley Kubrick Collection" DVD series. The film is presented in widescreen format and the picture/audio quality is outstanding.

On VHS:

1. Rebirth Of Mothra(1996)-the film is in Japanese language(no English subs) and in widescreen format. Picture quality is good.

2. Rebirth Of Mothra 2(1997)-the film is in widescreen format, Japanese language and English subtitles, and the picture quality is good.

3. Pulgasari(1985)-the film is in widescreen format and Japanese language(no English subtitles

Note: these VHS tapes can be transferred to DVD-R.

Anyone interested in any/all of these please respond in this thread. I will pay for shipping. Just looking to give them away to someone who might enjoy watching them. :)

I only found it to be above average but it's got a lot of frenetic action. I wasn't overly enamored with the giant monster's overall design but it is unique, that much is true. My guess is you would like this movie, Matthew. ;)
