I saw this posted by Jim Ballard at the CHFB(Classic Horror Film Board) and I thought it was definitely worth a mention. The Return Of Godzilla(1984) and Godzilla Vs Biollante(1989), neither of which is available on Region 1 DVD, have been released on Region 3(NTSC) DVD. Click this link for more info: Godzilla Region 3 DVD's

There was some question raised as to the quality of these DVDs and August Ragone(at the CHFB) assured folks that they are good. I like the prices Kimi. dancing swine

I am going to order both of these Region 3 DVDs Kimi. You can be sure I will be paying much closer attention to alternate region DVDs(NTSC format) of Toho films-neither of these two are on Region 1 DVD, and I think there may be some other ones available as well, maybe even Tsuburaya (Ultraman) features. eyebrow

The comments by people who have bought these DVDs, at CHFB, have been generally positive. thumbs up

Addendum: on 10/10/06 two(2) more "Godzilla" films are going to be released to DVD, in Region 3 NTSC, with Chinese and English subtitles: Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah(1991), and Godzilla Vs Mothra(1992), both presented in widescreen format. They are listed here: DDDhouse.com
Look for the links to these two releases(under "Coming Soon") on the right hand side of their main page. They are listed at about $5(USD) each, a pretty good price, I think. Having a multi-region player I am going to order these, as I only have these two films on the Sony full-framed DVD double feature.

I just saw a bit about these upcoming releases at another message board and was going to post, so good to see you're aware of these discs, too. :)

Lee, have you ever ordered from, DDDhouse.com?

No, I haven't. I will not be ordering as many DVDs in October, for two reasons: I want to concentrate on recording more films onto DVD-R off cable(e.g. TCM), and also because during October and November I pay some of bills ahead(early) in order to have a little more spare cash in December, for buying something for myself. At the time of this post these are the following DVD's I will order, between now and Christmas:

1. Mothra Vs Godzilla(1964)-Classic Media/available on 11/7
2. Godzilla Raids Again(1955)-Classic Media/available on 11/7
3. Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea-Season Two/Volume One(1965)-available later this month
4. Godzilla Vs Mothra(1992) and Godzilla Vs KG(1991)-Region 3 DVD's from DDDhouse.com

To be ordered early next year:

1. The Return Of Godzilla(1984)-Region 2(with eng subtitles)
2. Godzilla Vs Biollante(1989)-Region 2(with eng subtitles)
3. Jonny Quest(1964)-all episodes

What you plan on ordering sure looks like good choices. :) I will also cut way back on any DVD purchases until after the holidays, in order to buy gifts for everyone. What I know I won't be able to pick up, I'll simply add to my Christmas wish list and hope one or two titles are under someone's tree for me. Mr Green

Guess you'll have to be on your best behavior for the rest of the year, or you may not find anything under the tree. :ph43r:

I also told my cat the same thing...he's been acting better lately. He must have gotten the message. tongue-1

I'm ALWAYS on my best behavior! ;) dancing admin

Actually, I have so many DVDs I would love to have, just getting one or two would make my Christmas! I do know that Carol does the majority of Dad's Christmas shopping for me....he gives hjer cash and she goes to town, online ordering as many DVDs as she can get. Then Dad fills in a few gifts he chose himself and that's wonderful..... Mr Green

I just ordered them a short while ago. Both films are presented in widescreen, nice audio remixes, and english subtitles. Total cost for both, including shipping, was also very reasonable: $16.67. These two DVDs will be a definite upgrade from my full framed, dubbed Tri-Star DVDs of these two films. thumbs up
