These two DVDs will be a definite upgrade from my full framed, dubbed Tri-Star DVDs of these two films.

That's great, Lee, you're really in that positive upgrade mode at the moment and nothing better than seeing these films as they were meant to be seen. Any possibility you could share a screen-shot or two from these discs?

No can do, because I cannot play DVDs on my computer-my machine was a discounted model with only a CD drive. I am going to buy a simple DVD-ROM for my computer, probably an external drive of some kind, and in the $80-100 range, around Christmas. beating the admin

That's great, I need an official DVD, I have a wonderful looking disc, but always want to have an official version, whenever possible. Looks like I'll try to pick this up, after the holidays. Thanks for the info and link, Lee.

If you're able to share at a later date, that would always be great, too. :)

These various Region 2 DVD releases of Heisei and Millenium "Godzilla" films are evidence enough, IMO, that kaiju fans should have a multi-region, or region-free, DVD player in their home. I just cannot understand why these multi-region machines aren't marketed more here in the U.S. eyebrow

I also ALWAYS buy an official DVD of a film, even if I have a DVD-R of same...hell, especially if I have a DVD-R of the same. dancing admin

Once I have that DVD-ROM I will. Count on it. I am also going to invest in some variant of "Photoshop" in the Spring of next year, in order to make some new banners for this site, among other things. :)

I've been faithful about replacing DVD-Rs of any film to an official DVD, once they're released. I did that with, Island of Terror, I bought a nice looking DVD-R off eBay, but as soon as the R2 was made available, I got that. I usually give my DVD-Rs to my brother, as he may enjoy some of the same films I do, but he won't purchase some of these old classics.

I've had a region-free and PAL-NTSC player since 2001 and can't imagine being without such a player, it just opens up a whole new world!

Very charitable of you. I tend to hang onto mine now, including some old VHS tapes I have of some Showa "G" films(letterboxed and in Jap lang with eng subtitles). There like mementos-I also like having the spare copies, in case something were to happen to my official disks.

Topic: I always thought the scene of the vagrant helping himself to the(abandoned) restaurant's kitchen was funny, this as Godzilla thundered about outside. The bum had disdain and contempt for Godzilla, and didn't seem too frightened of the 264 foot(80 meter) tall Godzilla in this film...

Thanks. :) I think it's important to still introduce family and friends to films I enjoy...thinking it may hel them understand me a wee bit more.

I was going to give my brother my DVD-R of, Godzilla Raids Again, but the disc has a ton of great Japanese trailers on it, including one for, Latitude Zero and you also have the option to listen to the musical score, on its own....I believe this may have been taken from an LD.

I really enjoy this entire film and the scene you mention is good for a laugh, I just love the attitude shown.....nothing will stop him from filling his belly!

Just a reminder, Kimi, that Dan will also be making a banner here and there for MF-in fact, he already has. The current banner is his creation, as was the "Halloween" banner. thumbs up

Topic: think you're having a bad day? Imagine the security guard who walks outside the nuclear plant, the sidewalk splitting open in front of him, an 80 meter tall, 30,000 ton monster standing in front of him. freak out

Dan certainly does nice work, I didn't realize he'd done the current banner, but I was aware of his efforts for the Halloween banner. If you're reading this, Dan, nice work! thumbs up

I agree.

On the subject of forum banners here are the ones I have stored in my computer, so far:

1. a colorful banner based on Gamera 2-Advent Of Legion(1996), made by "Legionmaster" of the Toho Kingdom discussion site

2. a banner of the "GMK" Godzilla, set against a dark background, made by "Godzilla2000"(Evan) from the Kaiju Galaxy discussion site

3. Dan's "Halloween" banner, featuring Count Orlock from Nosferatu

4. a banner featuring the transformation scene of King Ghidorah in 2001's "GMK", also made by "Godzilla2000" from the KG site

5. a banner featuring KG carrying off Godzilla(a lighter gray background) from 1991's Godzilla Vs KG, made by "Legionmaster"

6. the current banner, a split image of the original 1966 Ultraman and Godzilla from "GFW"(2004)

I am hoping to buy some sort of program, either at a retailer or online, by which to make some more banners. I would like to be able to rotate the site's banner about once a month some time starting next year.
