Welcome to MONSTERLAND FORUMS! We are a casual and friendly online community of movie fans who like to talk about giant monsters, horror and sci-fi in cinema, on television and on Blu Ray/DVD. There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. For those of you who like making art, writing stories and creating videos, our community includes a forum for these submissions as well. Check out our main index page and other board forums! Anyone is welcome to join our community!
MONSTERLAND FORUMS was created on January 29, 2006 for the purpose of giving fans of giant monster films and other sci-fi/horror movies a friendly online meeting place to discuss all of their favorite films and other things of interest like video gaming and sports.
MONSTERLAND FORUMS has 180,000 posts. This online community, while over twelve years old, is currently no longer as active as the early years(between 2007-2009). Still, we have a half dozen members who continue to participate here.
For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju).

Well I respect his opinion and every else's opinion (That includes your Mr. Packmule) on Mothra vs Godzilla (1964), so Im sure he and others will respect my opinion on this film
When I started this site, Matthew, I did so with the intent of keeping this hangout civil, tolerant and respectful, of others and their opinions, something you have always expressed towards others here, as have I and the other members. You can be sure this kind of disagreement wouldn't...couldn't happen at some of the larger kaiju message boards without, unfortunately, some form or sarcasm, acrimony and possibly even ridicule. More than anything, this kind of saddens me more than it upsets me.

I've heard a lot of negative things about IMDB forums which makes me wonder if IMDB can, or will, do anything about it.
Obviously some "thread drift" has occurred in this thread, which is why I'm going to touch on this as well, at least while I'm thinking about:
-as I mentioned in the forum rules of this site, I encourage every member to try and stay "on topic" as much they can. That said 'thread drift" can and does happen and I will not warn(or any other way discipline) a member here unless it's something done in a deliberately blatant fashion, and after I tried without success to work with that member on the issue. Steering "off topic" happens at these message boards, and those site admins who try to maintain a strictly "on topic at all costs" approach, usually through their site mods, are only going to alienate their members, in the long run.
As Dan, the other site admin here, once said at another message board: "If there's something on your mind, then speak."

it's stupid to insult a person for liking something you don't
Also I was been calm and saying I respect their opinion, but they were still rude to me, so I acted like I lost and left the board, since I didnt want to go any deeper with them two and that you cant knock sense into people like that.

as a matter of fact I copped similar abuse for the fact I didn't like The Matrix and for the fact I liked the 1986 Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 more then the original (I loved both films though)
If its on IMDB, thats normal, when I was been attacked by the two I mentioned, it was when I was less-experienced on the internet, now I know more.
Im not a fan of The Matrix myself (I dont hate it, Im just not a fan), I havent seen the TCM films yet.

it's quite ridiculous that someone would place such importance of a film that they would find it grounds to make a personal attack on someone if they happen to have their own views.
True, it is ridiculous, the two I mentioned also put my on their MSN list and talked to me, one day they invited a friend who loved Zelda, once I said "Red vs Blue Rules", the guy went berserk at me for liking RvsB and Halo, Its shocking that they were older then me.

Sadly older doesn't always mean more mature and I think there is something to be said for forming your own opinions on things without blindly following what's most popular just to fit in....As for liking Red vs Blue I really haven't watched it myself but I know that it has a rather large fanbase and to insult one person from liking it is effective insulting thousands....and even more so with Halo...it's really very childish of them. We all have what we like an dislike.
Oh and off topic nice sig....Nosferatu was a great movie.

True, RvsB plus Halo do have a large fanbase, Im happy I am a part of it. :)

confused
To answer your question: I would think having my testicles crushed would be extremely painful. Because I've never, fortunately, experienced anything like this, I cannot base on my reply on experience, and only on my imagination and applied common sense about the male anatomical structure.
Now, I have a question of my own, in this 'thread drift" bonanza of words going on right now: what on Earth would prompt you to ask a question of me regarding my genitalia? and confused

Also because the two I mentioned before kept saying they preferred to have their Balls crushed rather then watch Freddy's Dead again
The two who made this remark were being smart asses, more than anything. I'm quite sure both of these guys would prefer to watch this movie, as opposed to having their genitals pulverized.

On DVD?
Mothra Vs Godzilla(1964) remains a favorite G film of mine. I have watched it more often than any Godzilla movie, with the possible exception of Godzilla King Of The Monsters(1956).
This film has everything that I want in a Godzilla movie: good special effects, a marvelous score, Godzilla as the antagonist(how I prefer to see this monster), a truly vile villain(in Torahata, played by Kenji Sahara), and a great monster battle.
Obviously Mothra Vs Godzilla has it's shortcomings, like all G movies and its effects are, compared to today's CGI and green screen technology, dated.

Ha ha, wobbly nose, wobbly nose...
One of my favorite parts of the film. It's so silly of them to keep it in
The word "silly" seems a little harsh, don't you think, Kex?
After all, Godzilla is a monster, a living creature made up of flesh and blood. Is it "silly" to think that body parts on an living creature might move in a random or indiscriminate manner from time to time?
You are aware of the circumstances that led to the quivering lip on the "Mosugoji" suit, right?

Didn't it Get messed up when he crashed into a building or something?
From IMDB:
Quote:
# The famous scene where Godzilla destroys the castle in Nagoya actually had to be filmed several times, and the castle had to be built twice. To make the castle fall correctly, two men are sitting behind pushing it with long sticks. The first time scene was shot, the two men pushed too soon, and the castle collapsed before Godzilla even touches it. The miniature castle then had to be rebuilt to redo the scene. The 2nd time, the opposite problem happens, and the two men miss their cue. You can see when Godzilla slams into the castle, it doesn't move. A second take had to be done with Godzilla clawing away at it as the two men push it over from behind. The moment where Godzillas foot slides on the ledge (causing him to fall into the castle) has been thought by many to be an accident. According to Haruo Nakajima (the actor inside Godzilla) the fall was actually scripted that way and done on purpose.
# When the sequence of Godzilla being fire bombed was being shot, during one of the takes, the flaming liquid splashed up onto Godzilla's head. The fuel quickly burned away and the flames went out. Inside the suit, performer Haruo Nakajima was unaware of the accident since the head of the suit is well above Nakajima's own head. Godzilla's head aflame became an unplanned bonus to the effects shot and it was included in the final cut.
From Wikipedia:
Quote:
The upper lip on the Godzilla suit in this film has a slight wobble. This was originally an accident; in the filming of a scene where Godzilla smashes into the Nagoya Castle, the actor in the suit (Haruo Nakajima) fell, and the suit's head slammed into the castle, loosening the teeth. Special effects director Eiji Tsuburaya liked this so much that he wanted to keep the suit like that for a while

proprobly the nicest made goji movie, it was put toghether so well. i really really liked the score, it calms my head after a long painful aching headache! i used to hate the suit but i'm turning around, it's one of the best, and i used to actually hate the ending, but it's actually amazing! the only flaw is him getting up from the ground, there's been speculation and talking, but most will agrre that this scene was weird! and it's a total mysery why it happened, at least to me it is. one of the best.

There's no need to apologize. I just wasn't sure what you were saying.
As to Godzilla's erupting up out of the ground, you described this sequence as weird. What was weird about it to you?
Well I see what I'm getting at, most fans at seeing this would think it's weird at first sight, last movie he was seen falling in the sea, the next coming out of the ground. I meen, he could have been washed up and buried, but why bother having him buried when having him come out of the sea so much more easy.
