The strings can be seen which is a pain.
And this was my major complaint with this movie. To me there's just no excuse for it, not in this day and age with technological advancements. I know that obscuring the wires is not an exact science, and that there's no 100% foolproof way of making them "invisible" to viewers watching a film where they are used-that said it appeared making them hard, or at least harder to see, was not a priority for the director of Godzilla Vs Megaguirus(2000).

IMO Godzilla vs Megaguirus isnt as good as Godzilla 2000, it is possible the worst, but Im still decided whats worser: Godzilla vs Megaguirus or Godzilla - Tokyo SOS, guess I have to watch them again.

Godzilla vs Megaguirus was an immediate hit with me. Not to say this was a perfect film in all aspects, but overall, I really enjoy it. The meganeura were quite an interesting aspect of the film and I still like the underwater scenes. thumbs up

The scene where the human sized meganeura slaughtered that couple in the alley certainly got my attention. Watching this scene my first thought was "Where's a good pest control man when you need one?" tongue-1

There's one scene which looks very impressive, it has to be when the Meganula are swarming around Godzilla.

I agree with you-that was a great scene. I think that was the first time in a movie that Godzilla's had to deal with a swarm of smaller creatures that collectively are still a threat to him. thumbs up

One of the best things about this movie is Michiru Oshima's theme. Outstanding.

I like Godzilla Vs Megaguirus(2000) overall but I have a hard time forgiving the effects staff of this film for the rampant visibility of the overhead wires during many of Megaguirus' flying scenes. I can forgive a glimpse of a wire here and there but being able to see the wires so easily, and often, is very annoying to me.

This seemed like one of the more lazy entries as it relays abit much on CGI on monster effects which I find is a very damaging thing in a kaiju film yet we see how computer effects can be used effectively to hide stings in Godzilla vs Destoroyah 5 years earlier but they just seemed like that couldn't be bothered with it....But I'll say while this wasn't a popular entry with me at least it was better then Godzilla 2000

Which is what perplexes me: in many of Toho's G and sci-fi films from the 1950's/1960's the wires are practically invisible, or at least much more hard to spot than this movie, released in December, 2000. confused

Other then the problem with visible strings....was it just me or in this film were the model buildings some of the cheapest looking in any Godzilla film to date.....I mean they seemed very detailed, odd coloured, even the debris looked cheap and while Megaguirus looked okay looked like the slightly altered the design of Battra to pass off as a new monster.....even the cloths looked real tacky........did this one have a small budget or something?

,..did this one have a small budget or something?

I took this from Wikipedia:

Quote:

Box Office

The budget of Godzilla vs. Megaguirus is estimated at $8,300,000.[1] It opened in Japan on December 16, 2000, and during its box office run, it grossed approximately $10,000,000, making it the lowest-grossing entry in the "Millennium" Godzilla series. Total admissions in Japan were approximately 1,350,000[2]
