Alot of people are quick to attack this film for a few green screen effects that didn't go so well but personally like the original Mothra vs. Godzilla I found this to be one of the better entries and was a welcome return to form after Godzilla Vs King Ghidorah which I've already stated that I wasn't very fond of. Battra made a impressive kaiju along with the long awaited return of Mothra.

Just watched this film last night. While not a big fan of Mothra, I like this film quite a bit anyway. Leaps and bounds better than the King Ghidorah film anyway. The pacing of this film was one of the reasons I liked it, There were kaiju appearances spread throughout alot of the film and the miniatures and city destruction scenes were good in my opinion. I'm not really sure about Mothra's stuffed animal look but it seemed to hold up.

I couldn't agree with you more other then not being a Mothra fan I don't mind Mothra myself....This film seemed to get the Heisei era back on track after Godzilla vs King Ghidorah which to me was a pretty bad Godzilla film and one of my least favourites. The films I felt had an impressive climactic battle and I must say I quite liked Battra....but you are right my main problem is Mothra looked like a plush toy...too cute a look for my liking....at least when we are talking about giant monsters.

That was probably Toho's intent. A cute, cuddly Mothra meant merchandising money from all those plush toys for the kiddies. ;)

I'm curious, Dan: did you catch the cameo appearance by Susumu Kurobe in Godzilla Vs Mothra(1992)?

I absolutely hate the "plushy Mothra" design used though...looked like Goji was fighting a giant flying pinata...

Mothra looked even more like a plush toy in the Return of Mothra trilogy....but they weren't very good films

I'm not sure I would personally call the 90's Mothra films "bad" although I could see how some might perceive them that way. The Mothra trilogy movies are obviously geared for children although the third and final Heisei Mothra film, Mothra 3: Invasion Of King Ghidorah(1998), had a little more edge.

The somewhat cute rather plush toy look of Mothra must have been a hit with the kiddies...well it was one of the most commercially successful Godzilla films so I guess it must have been

I watched this movie last night and it's one of the Heisei movies that I could watch on a regular basis. Music was good. effects are not too bad. The Monster Battles were done as well as they could be done.

I agree I like this one....I feel it brought the Heisei era back on track....another thing is I felt that this particular one had it's own charm and while not the all time best entry of the Heisei era..I was never the less very fond of it

Just thought something: if Battra is an embodiment of natue's revenge on humanity, isn't Godizilla that also? Shouldn't they have teamed up since they both serve the same purpose?

I just couldn't believe that Mothra and Battra teamed up. I liked that part where Godzilla showed up just in time to keep Battra from finishing mothra off. The Mothra turns on Godzilla.

And think, Battra would not have died if teamed up with Godzilla and would have still saved earth from the meteorite and we may have a Rebirth of Battra series.

In all complete honesty, i loved it when i was young, but i found it not as good later. there's tons of problems with it. but the one i didn't like at all, was the G roar, they switched back to the showa roar! the heisei GvKG was awesome enough!
