And I am well aware of the diffrence between fullscreen and widescreen
bravo clap

Why do you state that the widescreen format "does not help" this film?

Sometimes the widescreen format of the film helps the visuals save the film from being a total crap. This is not one of those times....

Perhaps the thing I dislike about this film, aside from the shot of Yuki's backside ( vomitard ), is the poor background effects used during Mogera's first engagement with SG in space. It looked, IMO terrible.

I actualy don't mind that scene. It is one of the cheesy moments that are just wonderful and makes Gvs.SG one of the kaiju films I do not take serious at all (when I watch a kaiju film, I often times watch them in a serious mood).

Another aspect of the 1994 G film I disliked: the sub plot involving Miki Saegusa's ESP abilities, which didn't really go anywhere in the movie. Perhaps Kawakita wanted to convince audiences that she could somehow control Godzilla's movements for the JSDF...like she did in Godzilla Vs Biollante.

Unless I am mistaken, shouldn't you be blaming Hiroshi Kashiwabara since he wrote the screenplay, since Kawakita would only be doing his job creating the special effects?

That would be correct. Thanks for the clarification.

One of the things I found annoying in this film, like in some other Heisei G films: the matte shots, which show a rampaging Godzilla in the background, and a foreground of vehicular and pedestrian traffic which looks remarkably unaffected by the monster's presence close by.

And should I also mention the use of a shot of Godzilla going underwater, with his tail quickly emerging from the ocean only to actualy BREAK OFF! LOLZ...

I thought the score was ok. It was no Ifukube or Otani, but it was nice. Though I still think that Hattori's masterpiece is his score from G2K...

Was that an outtake or was it actually in the film itself?

All they need to do is go back and edit out the bad scenes, edit back in the deleted good scenes and everything would be good like the Donner version of "Superman 2"...
