I was happy it ended. It was a good ending to maybe the best series. I saw this film yesterday, and honestly, Emiko should have gotten more screentime and the anti-nuclear message re-established. Then the film would be equal with GMK and Gojira and Gojira 1984.

Yeah, Emiko's part was pretty small. I think the film could have used more depth, maybe more character development.

And there could have been ascene of her crying during the meltdown, if not a Shindo-like scene with her with Gojira stock footage.

I felt pretty bad for Junior in the scene where he was dropped by Destoroyah and it appeared he had died, but since Godzilla's "meltdown" was impending throughout the film, it didnt bother me as much. I'm just glad Junior wasn't actually dead. Destoroyah was a mildly interesting creature but I'm not nearly as fond of him as I am some of Goji's other enemies.

^Destroyer doesn't have emotions. It was just doing what it felt it had to do to win. And besides, we don't call Godzilla evil to kill two children's mothers AKA Mothra! He was just wanting to survive. I would do the same.

i thought the film was better the godzilla vs king ghidorah, so i must say second to godzilla vs biollante in the heisei series. the only proplem i have is the aggreate milatary battle! the rest is sad, cool, and a good movie. and a bit sad. i love the goji suit, its bright, and the effect of steam around his body is cool.

destroyah basically wanted to destroy all things, and godzilla's meltdown would just help more. thats what i think.

I've also found myself feeling some disdain about Destoroyah's overall size of 120 meters, a full 20 meters taller than Godzilla. Destoroyah also looked a little too bulky to appear able to fly. I like the overall design of Destoroyah and it's "oxygen' derived beam weapon.

Though too bad that the original O.D. wasn't in the film. It would be coo if they had the O.D. be embeded into Dessy's chest.

Although this web page dedicated to the '95 Heisei Godzilla film doesn't appear to have been updated in a while it's still worth a look, I think: http://www.gvsdestoroyah.dulcemichaelanya.com/
