And what really gets me mad is that neither shows my all time favorate movies King Kong vs Godzilla, the Mysterians, or Atragon. Every so often you will see a classic show up on one of the movies channels but for the most part the only time you see these movies is on AMC during the day but most likly late at night and SCIFI shows them every so often and it's usually the same old ones destroy all monsters, Godzilla vs Gigan, Godzilla vs Megalon, and Godzilla vs Hedorah but mostly the lame 90s stuff. I don't think I've ever seen The Mysterians(1957) or Atragon(1963) on television. I can remember watching King Kong Vs Godzilla(1963) on "Superstation" TBS(Turner Broadcasting) back in the mid-eighties, along with War Of The Gargantuas(1966). As you mentioned, the Sci-Fi Channel does show some Godzilla films periodically(letterboxed too), but it is the same ones over and over again. I once saw the 1962 Columbia Pictures full framed Mothra on TCM a few years ago. It is not scheduled to appear again on TCM anytime soon. I soured a good bit on AMC after this channel started showing commercials during their movie presentations. I can remember a time when AMC showed sci-fi like When Worlds Collide and Crack In the World, and their Monsterfest marathons of sci-fi/horror movies included a plethora of classics. Now it seems every year we get a handful of interesting movies and too many repeat broadcasts of Halloween 4 and Halloween 5 thumbs down |

It is pathetic that they only show lame 80s and 90s slasher monster movies or the Tremors series. But every now and then they will show Planet of the Vampires and Godzilla pictures at a decent time and on TMC (the movie channel) they did air POTV so even though SCIFI and AMC don't show them very often and TBS, TNT, and USA never there are still channels that do so just keep checking the guides and you will get lucky. happy dance |

Indeed, I noticed that Planet Of The Vampires(1965) has been appearing on occasion on TMC. I once had all four cable movie channels, that is, HBO, Cinemax, TMC, and Showtime. I was impressed the most by TMC and Showtime. Cinemax is okay. HBO shows, IMO, far too many non-movie programs and the like. I happen to have POTV on DVD-IMO a decent horror flick. As you mentioned, you can catch something worth watching(or taping) on these various channels, even AMC, and not just during AMC's Monsterfest. One movie that comes to mind, that appears on AMC from time to time is The Alligator People(1959). thumbs up |

Jurassic Park(1993) will be appearing on AMC this week, on Monday, September 18, @ 8:00 PM, then again on Tuesday, September 19 @ 5:30 PM. Both times are EST. |
