Any thoughts of reviving this thread? My girlfriend hogs the DVR and I rarely get to catch too much tv but I could sneak something in if I knew a good movie was coming. Recently, I DVR'd some of Discovery channel's Shark Week.

Josh, if you see anything kaiju or kaiju related scheduled for a cable broadcast by all means post it here. To date I have only posted Toho kaiju films that aired on AMC, TCM and/or The Sci-Fi Channel. I try to be diligent in looking out for these movies when they show up on television but obviously I may have missed some. :)

I will try and post some more things in here that I believe might interest our members-as mentioned before feel free to post anything you may believe folks might enjoy watching. thumbs up

The X From Outer Space(1967), a kaiju film produced by Shochiku, will be airing on Turner Classic Movies, uncut, in widescreen and English dubbed, on March 9, 2008 @ 2:00 AM.

I don't even consider the SciFi Channel as a network to air Japanese kaiju movies anymore. I think the last time they aired a movie like that was probably two years ago when they aired their usual airings of the 90's Mothra trilogy and GMK.

Indeed. The Sci-Fi Channel, Russ, has become an amalgamation of "Sci-Fi Channel" original movies and more recent horror/sci-fi films, the latter many of the "straight to video" variety, these movies all mostly stinkers with poor acting and CGI effects. As Tom Van Slambrouck, aka "gvamp", once commented about AMC, the Sci-Fi Channel has, IMO, gone to hell.

The Sci-fi channel really has gone down in the dumps over the past few years. I'm not sure why these guys insist on constantly showing their crummy self made movies all the time. It used to be you could tune in and catch all kinds of classic material.

I haven't seen Rebirth of Mothra 3 yet and I really wish they or some network would show it again. I don't have the extra cash to hunt down a DVD-R or import copy of this film right now so I guess for the time being I'll have to wait and hope it eventually appears again. I don't understand why they can't just air one or two kaiju films a week. I'm sure they would receive more fanfare than 90% of those original films with the homemade special effects. freak out

About once per year, Sci-Fi does air the Mothra Trilogy. The only thing is, they air it late, late at night. (anywhere from 2am-5am... the same for GMK) As a matter of fact, these are the only four japanese monster movies they air now. I remember when Sci-Fi first aired. One of their first movies shown was a Friday night airing of King Kong Escapes. Now, as Pack mentioned, we get those straight to video movies. The best thing on that network now is The X-Files. At least we can catch other classic monster movies (and a Godzilla movie from time to time) on MonstersHD and the ChillerHD channel.

Ok, here's a sarcastic kaiju TV alert. GINO '98 will be on ABC Family/ABC Family HD tonight at 8pm. For anyone who cares.

Son Of Godzilla(1967) will air on Turner Classic Movies(TCM) on July 31,2008 at 2:15 PM Eastern Standard Time(EST). There was no specifics, at TCM's website as to whether the film will be shown in widescreen or full screen, and with English subtitles or in English dubbed language.
