Here's my ranking of these films, if anyone cares: tongue-2

1. Aliens

2. Alien

3. Alien Ressurection

4. Alien 3

5. AVP Requiem

6. AVP

Pretty close to your decisions, Matthew, only I enjoy "Aliens" greatly and far more than any other entry in the series, though part 1 was great, it's a distant second for me.

Am I the only one who didnt like the Predator Dreadlocks (Hair) on the Predalien?. heyo

IMO The Dreadlocks doesnt work the rest of the design of the Predalien, the Dreadlocks work well in the comics, pictures and games but in Aliens vs Predator - Requiem the hair just doesnt work.

Nah, not the only one. I liked the Predalien design from the AVP2 game, but the one from AVP:R was just wrong. It made no sense to have dreads.

Sigourney Weaver recently said in an interview that she would like to reprise her role as Ellen Ripley one more time, presumably in a fifth "Alien" film. I would like to see another film with these monsters...but I cannot fathom what the storyline would be about. confuzed

Being the man with a million ideas Mr. Smiles , I came up with very rough idea of an Alien 5 story. It didn't involve Ripley, but she could definitely fit in the story.

I want one more very good Alien movie and one more very good Predator movie to finish those franchises. The AVP movies have stripped them of most of the dignity they once had. So even though I think the mystique surrounding the creatures is nearly gone, they each deserve one good final film to end things right.

You should check out the assembly cut for Alien 3 G2K, if you've never seen it. Most fans agree that it improves the movie a lot. It's still not on par with the first two, but I think it's much closer to them in quality. A worthy finish to the Alien "trilogy" as I like to call it. Alien 4 was just so godawful I want to put it out of my memory. It was a really unnecessary sequel.

I found Alien 3's concept and setting to be a great idea on paper, but then the film itself just didn't deliver. I was displeased with some of the Alien effects, and a few of the castmembers just didn't fit well into the script. Overall I felt the movie really lacked pacing and and the suspense build-up wasn't there.

I was acctualy disapointed that H.R. Geiger, the original design maker of the alien, did some designs for the "dog alien" and was never used. Sucks...

Recent comments made by Sigourney Weaver at MTV's Movie Blog suggest the possibility a fifth "Alien" film may one get made. The actress has said she's open to reprising the role of "Ellen Ripley" if the film's story is good: http://www.horror-movies.ca/horror_13552.html

Opinions, guys? Should another "Alien" film be made?

Assuming the story is interesting, and a capable director(such as James Cameron) is on board, I say go for it!

Maybe if Cameron is on board...but I'm more inclined to say no. I think the AVP films have burned people out a bit on the franchise and I don't think a new "Aliens" film would fare too well right now. And although I'm a fan of Weaver, I don't think people are too interested in seeing the aging actress reprise another far-fetched version of Ripley.
