Top prospect from Spain Ricky Rubio didn't show up to the Wolves press conference after being drafted:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ball_dont_lie/post/Update-Ricky-Rubio-skips-Wolves-press-conferenc?urn=nba,173113

I remember reading somewhere that this kid didn't really want to play for the Wolves...personally I think he should shut the hell up and play basketball...but I wouldn't be surprised if they have issues with this.
It seems like a lot of this foreign players are entering the draft with prospective teams in mind. I think they fail to understand that they don't call the shots and wherever you are drafted that's where you are going. That's one downside I'm noticing about these foreign players...if that was a college player from the states, he would definitely not have an complaints and be more than happy that he is finally in the NBA.

Wow that would really suck but it would explain why he is always having foot injuries. Hopefully the injury isn't career threatening and Yao can get back on the court.

Rasheed Wallace...in a Boston Celtics uniform? Maybe: http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/9761922

Opinions, gentlemen? Can Rasheed Wallace, at age 34, still be a force and an impact player with Boston?

Late edit(7-3): F Ron Artest, who played last season for the Houston Rockets, has reportedly agreed verbally to play for the LA Lakers: http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/9762030

Wallace on the Celts...honestly I just don't get where he fits in unless they were planning on getting rid of a few other people...Someone is going to have to explain the logic behind this one to me.

Artest is going to LA but the Lakers lost Ariza...I liked Ariza, he stepped it up in the playoffs, he was athletic, played with alot of drive, and was a great supporting member of the team. Ron Artest played ok in Houston, but I'm wondering again on this one...was it really necessary? Will he clash with Kobe?

It depends where Wallace would go if he signed with the Celtics. But having Him, Paul, Ray and KG on the floor would be a nightmare if they were all healthy.

As for Artest...well he is definitely a great talent but will he clash with Kobe? And the rest of the team? This will definitely be interesting to see how it develops.

Fox Sports.com's Randy Hill weighs in, in this video, as to why he believes the Boston Celtics will benefit the most based on their off season pick up of F Rasheed Wallace: http://msn.foxsports.com/video/NBA?vid=29a3b0db-5563-4c40-9f44-a27200babcdd

Rasheed Wallace + a healthy "big three" of K.G., Paul Pierce and Ray Allen = the Eastern Conference's likely rep in the next NBA Finals. winky

There's an ages old adage that goes like this: "Nice guys finish last." Not always, as the Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard has recently demonstrated, hosting a youth basketball camp here in Atlanta where Howard grew up and played high school hoops. The Atlanta Hawks have signed veteran power forward Joe Smith to a one year deal: http://www.ajc.com/news/atlanta-hawks-sign-joe-123695.html

This is a solid acquisition for the Hawks.

Congratulations to the 2009 inductees into the NBA Hall Of Fame:

Michael Jordan
John Stockton
Jerry Sloan
Vivian Stringer
David Robinson

I remember when "The Admiral" began playing in the NBA after fulfilling his military obligation to the U.S. Navy(Robinson graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy). I thought at the time Robinson would be a good player but not really a great player. Obviously The Admiral proved me completely wrong.

Michael Jordan, as I have stated many times, is the absolute best professional basketball player I have ever seen. Six championships and a lot of other individual awards that are too numerous to mention here. My admiration for this man was no greater than after Michael Jordan's father was killed at a rest stop in Lumberton, North Carolina in an attempted carjacking/robbery in 1993. Jordan showed remarkable poise, composure, restraint and class in dealing with this personal tragedy all while allowing the police to perform their work in bringing the perpetrators of this senseless crime to justice.

I wasn't sure what to make of Jordan's speech during that whole thing...honestly he seem bitter and still has a big chip on his shoulder for whatever reason. Glad to see all of them get the nod though.
