I have not seen the film yet, but I have seen pictures that there are more than one, but yet I have heard just Dogora, so Dogora is like Moose or fish, the singular spelling is the same as the plural spelling. |

Dogora takes on several forms in Dogora The Space Monster(1964). At the beginning of the film the monster resembles a gigantic amoeba like organism as it hovers in space outside Earth's atmosphere. Later, descending into our atmosphere the creature looks like an enormous gray-white jellyfish, with huge tentacles. The monster feeds on carbon, one reason why it's drawn to coal, and diamonds in this movie. I consider it a single organism. During one sequence in this movie pieces of it float around in the air, presumably blasted away by military cannon fire. Still, I would consider it a single creature and not requiring a prefix such as "the", which implies plurality.

I liked this film, along with it's direct predecessor. Kiryu was just as badass as in the first film, the fights were epic, and all the monsters were well fleshed out as characters. All in all, I found this to be my personal favorite Millennium series film. My rating: out of

Who needs Toho Kingdom anyway? I'm a member at Monsterland Forums! Stick that in your pipe and smoke it! I find the term "Zombie" to be offensive. I prefer to be called Vitality Impaired. Jerry's Frags: 17 | |

I like the poster for this film, but I prefer the other one, which has half profiles of the kaiju's faces and at the bottom an unused still of Mothra larvae spraying webbing into the air whilenext to the bay durring evening... |

I also watched Godzilla Tokyo SOS(2003) tonight as well. I have always liked the score for this movie. The music, at times, is beautiful.

I've just watched this, and now I remember why I haven't seen it that often [only three times,I believe]. It's very entetaining, and perhaps the most Showa-like of the Millennium seres, but it just seems to tepidly rehash various earlier films. Of course we expect certain things in a Godzilla film, but this episode has absolutely nothing new! It reminds me constantly of earlier films throughout,be it Mothra Vs Godzilla or the previous one Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla, and even certain shots copied/paid homage to other movies. That's all well and good, but I just wished I was watching those other films! I will say that the battle between the Godzilla and the Mothra larvae [in my opinion] is better this time round. Of course it's still entertaining enough,a nice tight 90 mins. I liked seeing the human star of Mothra, and his role gave the film a bit of a heart it otherwise lacks. I've always liked Mothra and the whole background to her story [one of the reasons I like the 92 remake almost as much as the original],and it was good to see some of it again here. Mothra to me looked her best ever [though I've only seen the first one of the Rebirth series],simply beautiful, and the Milennium Mechagodzilla I still prefer to the Heisei one [my favourite one is in Terror Of Mechagodzilla]. Godzilla oddly seemed not always convincing in this one,but maybe that was because I wasn't totally engrossed in the events in on screen? Most of the effects were fine but why do we still have stock shots of ship's cannons shooting and why is Toho CG just not usually very good? The fights were pretty dull,in fact they seemed a little rushed. A okay film but it seems just like Toho were marking time with it,before doing something more interesting [Final Wars was a total mess but it was interesting to say the least!]. To be honest the only Millennium film I really love is Godzilla Vs Megaguirus, though Giant Monster's All Out Attack gets better with each viewing [I had a lot of problems with it at first!]. I find these films a little cold and lacking, well, heart I suppose [which sounds wierd I know]. People say the same about the Heisei films, but I disagree to a certain extent. |

Nice review, especialy the last paragraph. Could you please go into more detail about "these films" being "alittle cold and lacking heart"? |
